QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 76)
 
82. Mr Kafwaya (Lunte)  -  to ask the Vice President:
 
(a) whether the Government is aware that the Acting Auditor General who approved the Report of the Auditor General on the Accounts of the Republic for the Financial Year ended 31st December, 2022, is above the constitutional retirement age of sixty (60) years, thereby holding office illegally;
 
(b) if so, why the Acting Auditor General has continued to hold office in contravention of Article 252(1) of the Republican Constitution; and
 
(c) what the Government position on the Report that was signed by a constitutionally disqualified office holder, is.
 
83. Mr Chitotela (Pambashe)  -  to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:
 
(a) what the Government position on the two impounded trucks loaded with sugilite in Butute area, west of Milenge District, on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, is; 
 
(b) why the illegal mining of sugilite has persisted despite Government assurance to stop illegal mining of the mineral in Luapula Province; and
 
(c) what measures the Government is implementing to stop the illegal mining of sugilite in order to ensure that the mineral is mined for the benefit of the nation.
 
QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 74)
 
84. Mr A Banda (Chimwemwe)  -  to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to connect the following Wards in Chimwemwe Parliamentary Constituency to the Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation Company water supply system: 
 
(i) Kamatipa;
(ii) Twatasha; and
(iii) Itimpi; 
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
85. Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central)  -  to ask the Minister of Health:
 
(a) how many maternal deaths were recorded, countrywide, from 2017 to 2022, year by year; 
 
(b) what the causes of the deaths, were; and
 
(c) what measures the Government is taking to reduce maternal deaths.
 
86. Ms Nyirenda (Lundazi)  -  to ask the Minister of Health:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate the Old Lundazi Hospital in Lundazi District, which is in a deplorable state; 
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
87. Mr Chanda (Kanchibiya)  -  to ask the Minister of Health:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct a level I hospital, with a mortuary, in Kanchibiya District; 
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
 
(c) what the estimated cost of the project is; and
 
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
 
88. Ms M Phiri (Milanzi)  -  to ask the Minister of Education:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct the following infrastructure at the newly upgraded Umodzi Senior Secondary School in Milanzi Parliamentary Constituency: 
 
(i) teachers’ houses;
(ii) additional classroom blocks; and
(iii) science laboratory; and
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented.
