QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 74)
72. Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
(a) whether there are any Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) seeds that are planted in Zambia;
(b) if so, which seeds are planted;
(c) what the negative effects of GMO seeds are; and
(d) what measures are being taken to prevent the use of GMOs in the country.
73. Mr L Lungu (Kapoche) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate the four (4) bridges along the Chinzule-Muzime road, in Kapoche Parliamentary Constituency;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
74. Mr Kolala (Lufubu) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:
(a) how many tonnes of copper Konkola Copper Mines Plc produced from June, 2019 to December, 2022, year by year;
(b) how much profit the company generated from the sale of the copper in the period above, year by year;
(c) how the profit was utilised; and
(d) what the benefits of private ownership of mines are.
75. Mr Kalobo (Wusakile) - to ask theMinister of Mines and Minerals Development:
(a) how many injuries and fatalities were recorded at the Black Mountain in Kitwe District during the period February 2022 to February 2023;
(b) whether there was any compensation paid to the victims; and
(c) if no compensation was paid, why.
76. Mr Michelo (Bweengwa) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:
(a) whether all former ministers who illegally occupied office after the dissolution of Parliament in 2016 had paid back the emoluments they illegally received, as of May, 2023;
(b) if so, what the average amount each minister paid back was;
(c) what the total amount recovered, was; and
(d) with which bank the money was deposited.
77. Mr C Chibuye (Mkushi North) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct a toll plaza along Mkushi-Musofu-Mundawanga road in Mkushi District;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
(c) what the estimated cost of the project is; and
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
