PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS ON LITERACY CONFER WITH SPEAKER MUTTI
On Tuesday, 16th November, 2022, the Parliamentary Caucus on Literacy (PCL) Executive Members led by Mr Mulenga Fube, MP paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, The Rt. Hon Ms Nelly B K Mutti, MP at Parliament Buildings to formally enlighten her on the formation and objectives of the newly established Caucus.
Speaker Mutti pledged support to the Caucus and reminded the members that one of the three components used in measuring the overall human development of a country, through the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI), is literacy.
She added that focus should be on the fundamentals of what gets the country to attain great progress in increasing literacy rates.
Mr Fube expressed confidence that the Members were equal to the task and would achieve the mission and objectives of the Caucus.
