A Delegation from the World Bank led by the Executive Director Eva Valle Maestro paid a courtesy call on the First Deputy Speaker, Honourable Malungo A Chisangano, MP, and the Second Deputy Speaker, Honourable Moses Moyo, MP of the National Assembly of Zambia on Monday 14th March 2022 at Parliament Buildings.

In attendance were Members of Parliament from various Parliamentary Committees of the National Assembly as follows; Mr Chanda Katotobwe, MP, Vice-Chairperson Committee on Energy, Water Development and Tourism, Mr Fred Chaatila, MP, Chairperson Planning and Budgeting Committee, MP, Mayungo Simushi Committee on Transport, Works and Supply, MS Sibeso Sefula, MP, Chairperson Committee on National Economy, Trade and Labour Matters.

The meeting focussed on the challenges Zambia is experiencing on the economic front specifically in regards to the macroeconomic sectors such as Education, Agriculture, Health and Road networks. Executive Director Eva Valle Maestro stated that the World Bank stands ready to help Zambia in overcoming the challenges.

The First Deputy Speaker appreciated the visit by the World Bank and the pledge to assist Members of Parliament in achieving their development goals in their constituencies
