The Anti-Terrorism and Non-Proliferation Act, 2018

An Act to prevent and prohibit the carrying out of terrorism

financing and proliferation activities; provide formeasures

for the detection and prevention of terrorism and

proliferation activities; provide for the continued existence

of the National Anti-Terrorism Centre and redefine its

functions; provide for the offences of proliferation and

proliferation financing; domesticate the international

conventions and treaties on anti-terrorism and

proliferation; repeal the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2007; and

The Credit Reporting Act, 2018

An Act to provide for the regulation of credit reporting

agencies by the Bank of Zambia; the licensing of credit

reporting agencies; the establishment of a Credit

Registry; the governance and management of credit

reporting agencies; the protection of data subjects;

information sharing and reporting to enable assessment

of the credit worthiness of a data subject; and matters

connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia Act, 2018

An Act to establish the Information and Communications

Technology Association of Zambia and provide for its

functions; provide for the registration of information and

communications technology professionals and regulate

their professional conduct in the interest of the

information and communications technology sector; and

provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the

foregoing.

PRESIDENT LUNGU VISITS NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STAND AT SHOW GROUNDS

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu visited the National Assembly of Zambia stand at the ongoing 92nd Agricultural and Commercial in Lusaka on Friday, 3rd August, 2018.  The President who was in his jovial mood shouted “hear hear hear....order order order..” (sentiments usually used in Parliament) upon seeing the National Assembly stand.

 

Statement by the SADC–PF on the just ended elections in Zimbabwe

The SADC Parliamentary Forum has issued a preliminary statement on the Observation Mission to the 2018 Zimbabwe Harmonised Elections. The Statement was issued by the Head of Mission the Rt Hon Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, FCIArb, MP, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia at Harare International Conference Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe on 1st August, 2018.

National Assembly showcases it's work at the 92nd Agricultural and Commercial Show

The National Assembly of Zambia is participating in the 92nd Agricultural and Commercial Show under the theme: “Sustainble Economic Empowerment” . The Show will be held from 1st to 6th August, 2018, at the Lusaka Show Grounds.

The Agricultural and Commercial Show is organised by the Agricultural and Commercial Society of Zambia (ACSZ) annually for a period of five days in the capital city of Lusaka. The show brings together a variety of products and services from a cross section of exhibitors from within and outside the country.

The National Assembly of Zambia is encouraging showgoers to visit our stand which is located in the Jubiliee Hall and listen to Parliament Radio onour countrywide frequencies.

 

Supplementary Appropriation (2018) Bill, 2018

The object of this Bill is to authorise supplementary expenditure

fromthe Consolidated Fund of monies required for the services of

the Republic during the financial year ending on 31st December,

2018, in excess of monies appropriated for the services of the

Republic by theAppropriationAct, 2017.

CHINESE AMBASSSADOR TO ZAMBIA REAFFIRMS CHINA’S BILATERAL COOPERATION TO THE ZAMBIAN PARLIAMENT

The Rt Hon Justice Dr Patrick Matibini, SC, MP, FCIArb, Speaker of the National Assembly has reiterate that Zambia and China have continued to enjoy warm bilateral relations from the pre-colonial era. He said this when His Excellency Ambassador Li Jie, Chinese Ambassador to Zambia paid a courtsey call on him on Wednesday, 25th July, 2018 at Parliament Buildings, Lusaka.
