The Skills Development Levy Bill, 2016

The objects of this Bill are to provide for -

(a) the imposition, payment and collection of a skills development levy at the rate of 0.5 percent of gross emoluments; and

(b) matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The Supplementary Appropriation (2016) Bill, 2016

The object of this Bill is to authorise supplementary expenditure from the general revenues fo the Republic of monies required for the services of the Republic during the financial year ending on 31st December, 2016, in excess of monies appropriated for the services of the Republic by the Appropriation Act, 2015, and Supplementary Appropriation Act, 2016.
 

The Excess Expenditure Appropriation (2013) Bill, 2016

The object of this Bill is to improve expenditure in excess of monies appropriated for the services of the Republic by the Appropriation Act, 2013, and the Supplementary Appropriation (2013) Act, 2015.

The Supplementary Appropriation (2014) Bill, 2016

The object of this Bill is to confirm the supplementary expenditure from the general revenues of the Republic of monies spent for the services of the Republic during the financial year ended on 31st December, 2014, in excess of the monies appropriated for the services of the Republic by the Appropriation Act, 2014.

The Compensation Fund Bill (No.2), 2016

The objects of this Bill are to -

(a) provide for the administration and management of the Compensation Fund established under Article 209 of the Constitution;

(b) establish the Compensation Fund Committee and provide for its composition and functions;

(c) provide for the accounting and audit of the Funds; and

(d) provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing

The Securities Bill, 2016

The object of this Bill is to—
(a) regulate the capital markets so as to foster fair and efficient
trading;
(b) continue the existence of the Securities and Exchange
Commission and provide for its functions and powers;
(c) license and regulate securities exchanges, clearing and
settlement agencies and self-regulatory organisations;
(d) ensure the financial integrity of transactions and avoidance
of systemic risk in the capital markets;
(e) provide for licensing and regulation of capital markets
operators;

The Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies Bill, 2016

The objects of this Bill are to -

(a). establish the Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies and provide fro its functions;

(b). constitute the Council of the Zambia Institute for Tourism and Hospitality Studies and provide for its functions;

(c). provide for the development of human resource in the tourism sector through academic and professional development, skills training, research and consultancy; and

(d). provide for the matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.

The Patents Bill, 2016

The objects of this Bill are to:

(a). provide for the protection and administration of patents;

(b). provide for the patentability of inventions;

(c). provide for the process for obtaining letters patent for an invention;

(d). provide for the restriction, publication and communication of patents;

(e). promote the use of patented information and technological knowledge;

(f). provide for contractual and compulsory licenses;

(g). provide for the use and acquisition of inventions by the Government;

The Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Bill, 2016

The objectives of this Bill is to amend the Constitution of Zambia so as to -

 (a) revise the Bill of Rights to include civil, political, economic, social, cultural, environmental, further and special rights;
