QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 76)

4    Mr Chanda (Kanchibiya)     -    to ask the Minister of Agriculture:

(a)    when the Food Reserve Agency will pay famers in Kanchibiya Parliamentary Constituency and other parts of the country for the maize supplied during the 2021 marketing season;

(b)    what the cause of delay in paying the farmers is; and 

(c)    whether the delayed payment will not affect preparations for the 2021/2022 farming season.

5    Mr Kamboni (Kalomo Central)     -    to ask the Minister of Agriculture:

(a)    whether the Government is aware that maize in satellite depots in Kalomo Central Parliamentary Constituency  has not been transferred to the main storage depot because transporters have not been paid; and

(b)    if so, what urgent measures the Government is taking to ensure that the maize in the satellite depots does not go to waste.

6    Mr Kamboni (Kalomo Central)     -    to ask the Minister of Agriculture:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to increase the amount of money allocated to farmers, countrywide, under the Farmer Input Support Programme before the 2021/2022 farming season, considering the increase in the price of fertilizer; and

(b)    if so, when the plans will be implemented.

7    Mr Kamboni (Kalomo Central)     -    to ask the Minister of Agriculture:

(a)    when the distribution of farming inputs under the Farmer Input Support Programme for the 2021/2022 farming  season will commence, countrywide; and

(b)    what the cause of delay in distributing the farming inputs is.
