45.  Mr Mwiimbu (Monze Central)    -    to ask the Minister of Local Government:

 

(a) whether the Government is aware that the continued running of markets and bus stations by the Patriotic Front (PF) Party cadres has resulted in lawlessness in the markets and bus stations and posing a serious potential conflict with cadres from the opposition political parties;

 

(b) if so, what urgent measures are being taken to stop PF cadres from running the markets and bus stations and thereby avert the looming clash with the cadres from different political parties;

 

(c) why the Government has allowed the PF Party cadres to run the markets and bus stations contrary to the law; and

 

(d) when the Markets and Bus Stations Act No. 7 of 2007 will be operationalised.
