289 Mr M Jere (Livingstone) - to ask the Minister of Tourism and Arts:
 
(a) what the total number of rhinos in the Mosi-O-Tunya National Park in Livingstone was, as of October, 2018;
 
(b) how many rhinos were illegally killed from January to October, 2018; and
 
(c) whether the Government has any plans to install surveillance cameras in the Park in order to curb poaching.
 
 
290 Mr Zimba (Chasefu)    - to ask the Minister of General Education:
 
 
(a) when teachers will be deployed to the following secondary schools which were recently converted from community to Government schools in Chasefu Parliamentary Constituency:
 
(i) Nkhanga;
(ii) Kakoma;
(iii) Egichikeni; and
(iv) Lupamazi; and
 
(b) when the remaining community schools will be converted to Government schools.
 
 
291 Mr S Miti (Feira)   - to ask the Minister of Transport and Communication:
 
 
(a) when the newly constructed communication towers at the following places in Feira Parliamentary Constituency will become operational:
 
(i) Kaunga;
(ii) Janeiro; and
(iii) Mkaliva; and
 
(b) what has caused the delay in operationalising the towers.
 
 
292 Mr Samakayi (Mwinilunga)    - to ask the Minister of Finance:
 
 
(a) how many public service workers retired from January, 2014 to June, 2018;
 
(b) how much money is owed to the retirees in terms of the following entitlements, year by year:
 
(i) terminal benefits;
(ii) leave days; and
(iii) repatriation allowances; and
 
(c) when the moneys will be paid.
 
 
293 Dr Chibanda (Mufulira)    - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
 
 
(a) when a census of agriculture was last conducted;
 
(b) what the cost of the exercise was;
 
(c) what the findings were;
 
(d) what the importance of such an exercise is; and
 
(e) when the next census will be conducted.
 
 
294 Dr Chanda (Bwana Mkubwa) - to ask the Minister of Local Government:
 
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct an intercity bus terminus in Ndola; and
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented.
 
 
295 Dr Chanda (Bwana Mkubwa) - to ask the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources:
 
(a) whether the Chiefs’ Indaba on the draft National Land Policy has officially submitted its recommendations to the Government;
 
(b) if so, whether the recommendations have been incorporated in the draft Policy;
 
(c) if the recommendations have not been incorporated, why; and
 
(d) when the Policy will be finalised.
 
 
296 Mr Lihefu (Manyinga) - to ask the Minister of General Education:
 
 
(a) how many teachers in Manyinga District applied for employment in the teaching service during the 2018 recruitment exercise;
 
(b) of the number above, how many were recruited; and
 
(c) how many teachers from other areas have been deployed to the District.
 
 
297 Mr C Zulu (Luangeni)    - to ask the Minister of Energy:
 
(a) how many employees, who retired from ZESCO Limited, were still serving on contract as of 31st October, 2018, countrywide;
 
(b) what the reasons for retaining the retired employees on contract were;
 
(c) whether the Government is aware that retaining retired employees serving on contract is adversely affecting service delivery; and
 
(d) if so, what measures are being taken to reduce the number of retirees serving on contract.
 
 
 
298 Mr Nanjuwa (Mumbwa)    - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock:
 
 
(a) why the construction of the Kawama Dip Tank in Mpusu Ward in Mumbwa Parliamentary Constituency has stalled;
 
(b) when the works will resume;
 
(c) whether the delay in completing the project will result in additional costs; and
 
(d) if so, how much more than the initial amount of money the project will cost.
 
 
299 Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
 
 
(a) what the total number of cashewnut farmers in Western Province was, as of 30th June, 2018, district by district;
 
(b) what the challenges associated with the implementation of the cashewnut project in the Province are; and
 
(c) what measures the Government is taking to avert the recurrence of similar challenges in the 2018/2019 farming season.
 
 
300 Mr C Zulu (Luangeni)    - to ask the Minister of Energy:
 
 
(a) what the progress on the construction of the power interconnector between Chipata District in Zambia and Muchinji District in Malawi is;
 
(b) what the projected income, per annum, from the export of electricity to Malawi under the project, is;
 
(c) whether the local people who were adversely affected by the implementation of the project have been compensated; and
 
(d) what the long term benefits that will accrue to the local people, are.
 
 
 
301 Dr Chanda (Bwana Mkubwa) - to ask the Minister of Local Government:
 
 
(a) why the construction of modern structures at the Old Mushili Market in Bwana Mkubwa Parliamentary Constituency has stalled for 3 years;
 
(b) when the works will resume; and
 
(c) why the contract has not been terminated despite the poor performance by the contractor.
 
 
302 Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of General Education:
 
(a) how many schools in Kalabo District have qualified teachers in early childhood education; and
 
(b) what measures are being taken to improve early childhood education in the District.
 
 
303 Mr Mukosa (Chinsali)    - to ask the Minister of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct a sewerage system in Chinsali Parliamentary Constituency;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
