260 Mr Mecha (Chifunabuli) - to ask the Minister of General Education:

 

(a) when the Government will deploy additional teachers to the following Schools, which are grossly understaffed, in Chifunabuli Parliamentary Constituency:

 

(i) Nshungu Primary in Kafumbo Ward;

 

(ii) Chibingila Primary in Chinkutila Ward;

 

(iii) Chifuko Primary in Masonde Ward;

 

(iv) Nkulunga Secondary in Kafumbo Ward; and

 

(v) Munkwanga Secondary in Chinkutila Ward; and

 

(b) why it has taken long to deploy additional teachers to the Schools.

 

261 Mr Mutaba (Mwandi) - to ask the Minister of General Education:

 

(a) whether the Government has any plans to add the following primary schools in Mwandi District to the Establishment Register:

 

(i) Sooka;                                             (vi) Mutale;

 

(ii) Sikuzu;                                            (vii) Nakamba;

 

(iii) Aibelilwe;                                        (viii) Alibuzwi;

 

(iv) Manyemwe;                                    (ix) Sakasise; and

 

(v) Kangubu;                                         (x) Lwamwila;

 

(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and

 

(c) if there are no such plans, why.

 

 

 

Rescind Decision to Abolish Meal Allowances:  That this House urges the Government to rescind the decision to abolish the payment of meal allowances to students at public universities.

 

 

Report of the Parliamentary Reforms and Modernisation Committee:  That this House do adopt the First Report of the Parliamentary Reforms and Modernisation Committee on the Review of the National Assembly of Zambia Standing Orders, 2016 for the Third Session of the Twelfth National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on 13th February, 2019.

 

 

 

The Mental Health - Bill to provide for the promotion and protection of the rights of persons with mental illness, mental disorder, mental impairment or mental disability; to establish the National Mental Health Council and provide for its functions; provide for mental health services in correctional facilities; give effect to certain provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Principles for the protection of persons with mental illness and the improvement of mental care General Assembly Resolution 46/119 of 17th December, 1991 and other international human rights instruments to which Zambia is a State Party; repeal the Mental Disorders Act, 1949; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.  (N.A.B. 1/2019)
