QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER NO. 31)
56 Mr Mukosa (Chinsali) - to ask the Minister of Energy:
(a) what factors led to the increase of fuel prices on 2nd October, 2018;
(b) what measures the Government is taking to prevent further increase in fuel prices;
(c) whether the Government is aware that the Energy Regulation Board issued a statement on 27th September, 2018 through the Director for Customer and Public Affairs which dispelled rumours about the looming fuel price increase; and
(d) if so, what disciplinary measures the Government has taken against the officer for misleading the nation.
57 Dr Chibanda (Mufulira) - to ask the Minister of Higher Education:
(a) what caused the riots at the University of Zambia on Thursday, 4th October, 2018, leading to the death of one student;
(b) what immediate measures the Government is taking to restore an academic environment at the institution; and
(c) what measures the Government is taking to pay salaries for University of Zambia staff and students’ allowances on time.
58 Mr Jamba (Mwembeshi) - to ask the Minister of Justice:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to present, to Parliament, a Bill to amend the Constitution;
(b) if so, when the Bill will be presented; and
(c) what has caused the delay in presenting the Bill.
