QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER NO. 31)
207 Dr Musokotwane (Liuwa) - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock:
(a) why the Government has extended the fishing ban to Liuwa Parliamentary Constituency which is not affected by the cholera epidemic;
(b) whether the Government is aware that the extension of the ban is adversely affecting the people of Liuwa who depend on fishing activities for their livelihood; and
(c) whether the Government will consider lifting the ban in areas which are not affected by the cholera epidemic.
208 Mr Samakayi (Mwinilunga) - to ask the Minister of Energy:
(a) whether the Government is aware that ZESCO Ltd has run out of prepaid metres;
(b) when the prepaid metres will be procured to avoid inconveniencing new customers and those requiring replacements; and
(c) what measures the Government is taking to ensure that ZESCO Ltd has a continuous supply of essential items such as prepaid metres and transformers.
QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER NO. 30)
209 Mr C Zulu (Luangeni) - to ask the Minister of Energy:
(a) whether there are any companies that have shown interest in setting up energy generating plants using solid waste;
(b) if so, what the names of the companies are; and
(c) what measures have been taken to promote the establishment of such plants.
210 Ms Kucheka (Zambezi West) - to ask the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development:
(a) why the construction of a police post at Mize in Chief Ndungu’s Chiefdom in Zambezi West Parliamentary Constituency has stalled;
(b) when the construction works will resume;
(c) who the contractor for the project is;
(d) what the total cost of the project is; and
(e) what the time-frame for the completion of the project is.
211 Mr Chali (Nchanga) - to ask the Minister of Higher Education:
(a) who the shareholders of the Zambia Institute of Management (ZAMIM), are;
(b) what percentage of shares is owned by the Government; and
(c) how the ZAMIM Chingola Campus was acquired from the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines.
212 Mr C Zulu (Luangeni) - to ask the Minister of Local Government:
(a) why the abattoir in Kitwe District was converted to a warehouse;
(b) who the new occupants of the former abattoir are;
(c) whether the Government has any plans to construct a new abattoir in Kitwe;
(d) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(e) where livestock traders currently slaughter their animals from.
213 Mr Chisopa (Mkushi South) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:
(a) when the motor vehicle for Luano Police Post in Mkushi South Parliamentary Constituency which was sent for repair, will be returned;
(b) why it has taken long to return the motor vehicle;
(c) whether the Government has any plans to procure a new vehicle for the Police Post; and
(d) if so, when a new vehicle will be procured.
214 Mr Kintu (Solwezi East) - to ask the Minister of Higher Education:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct a skills training institute in Mushindamo District;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
215 Mr Mecha (Chifunabuli) - to ask the Minister of General Education:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to transform Kasaba Day Secondary School in Chifunabuli Parliamentary Constituency to a boarding school;
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
(c) if there are no such plans, why; and
(d) when an accountant and a secretary will be deployed to the School.
216 Mr Kamboni (Kalomo Central) - to ask the Minister of Local Government:
(a) what the progress on the rehabilitation of township roads in Kalomo Central Parliamentary Constituency is;
(b) what the time-frame for the completion of the project is; and
(c) what the name of the contractor for the project is.
