QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

27    Mr Mecha (Chifunabuli) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:
    
(a)    what the total number of farmers on the e-Voucher system in Chifunabuli Parliamentary Constituency is;

(b)    how many farmers at (a) did not have their e-Voucher cards activated as of 20th June, 2017;

(c)    when the cards will be activated; and

(d)    what measures have been taken to avoid the challenges encountered in the implementation of the e-Voucher system in the 2016/2017 farming season.

28    Mr Lufuma (Kabompo) - to ask the Minister of General Education:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to recruit teachers in 2017;

(b)    if so, what the total number of teachers to be recruited is;

(c)    what the total number of teachers earmarked to be deployed to each province is; and

(d)    whether the Government has any plans to deploy more teachers to rural schools.

29    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:

(a)    what the total number of agro-dealers registered to sell inputs to farmers under the e-Voucher system country-wide was, as of 31st May, 2017;

(b)    what the criteria for registering the agro-dealers are; and

(c)    why Nangoma Parliamentary Constituency has no registered agro-dealers under the e-Voucher system.

30    Mr Mutale (Chitambo) - to ask the Minister of Energy:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to establish a ZESCO office in Chitambo District;

(b)    if so, when the plans will be implemented; and

(c)    if there are no such plans, why.

31    Ms E Phiri (Kanyama) - to ask the Minister of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to provide safe and clean water to all residents in Kanyama Parliamentary Constituency;

(b)    if so, what the specific plans are;

(c)    when the plans will be implemented; and

(d)    if there are no such plans, why.

The Corporate Insolvency - Bill to provide for corporate receiverships, appointment of receivers and the duties and responsibilities of receivers; business rescue, appointment, duties and responsibilities of business rescue administrators, rights of affected persons during business rescue proceedings and business rescue plans; schemes of arrangements or compromise with creditors; winding up of companies, appointment of liquidators and the duties and responsibilities of liquidators, committees of inspection, special managers and the Official Receiver; insolvency practitioners and the duties and responsibilities of insolvency practitioners; cross-border insolvency; and matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.                                                                                                                                         (N.A.B 9/2017)

The Companies - Bill to promote the development of the economy by encouraging entrepreneurship, enterprise efficiency, flexibility and simplicity in the formation and maintenance of companies; provide for the incorporation, categorisation, management and administration of different types of companies; provide the procedure for the approval of company names, change of name and conversion of companies; provide for shareholders’ rights and obligations, the conduct of meetings and the passing of resolutions by shareholders; to encourage transparency and high standards of corporate governance by providing for the functions and obligations of company secretaries and directors; provide for issue of shares, share capital requirements, procedures for alteration and reduction of share capital and disclosure requirements of companies; provide for the public issue of shares, the issue and registration of charges and debentures; incorporate financial reporting provisions, maintenance of accounting records, and access to financial information of companies; provide for amalgamations; provide for the registration of foreign companies doing business in Zambia; provide for the deregistration of companies; repeal and replace the Companies Act, 1994; and provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.                                                                                                                                                                                           (N.A.B 10/2017)
