QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

317    Mr Mutale (Chitambo) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to purchase orange maize from farmers during the 2017 marketing season; and

(b)    if so, how many tonnes will be purchased.

318    Mr C Zulu (Luangeni) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    whether the mobile hospitals are operational;

(b)    if so, how many parliamentary constituencies benefited from the services offered from 2011 to 2016; and

(c)    why Luangeni Parliamentary Constituency has not benefited from the mobile hospitals.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER
 
W8    Mr S Miti (Feira) - to ask the Minister of General Education:

(a)    when the rehabilitation of a 1 x 2 classroom block at Chiriwe Primary School in Feira Parliamentary Constituency, whose roof was blown off in December, 2016, will commence;

(b)    what the cause of the delay in rehabilitating the school is; and

(c)    what the total cost of the project is.

W9    Mr Imbuwa (Nalolo) - to ask the Minister of Energy:

(a)    when the following places in Nalolo Parliamentary Constituency will be connected to the national electricity grid:

(i)    all the schools; and
(ii)    Her Royal Highness Mbuyu Imwiko’s Palace;

(b)    when the following clinics in the Constituency will be electrified:

(i)    Mukukutu;
(ii)    Kataba;
(iii)    Siloloti;
(iv)    Nasikoma;
(v)    Liliachi
(vi)    Sinungu;
(vii)    Kaunga Lueti; and
(viii)    Nangoma; and

(c)    when the district administration offices will be electrified.

W10    Mr Chabi (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development:

(a)    when the construction of Mwenda Secondary School in Chipili Parliamentary Constituency will be completed;

(b)    who the contractor for the project is; and

(c)    what the total cost of the project is.

W11    Mr Zimba (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development:

(a)    whether the Government is aware that the stretch of the Chipata-Lundazi road from Chipata to Mpingozi is in a deplorable condition; and

(b)    if so, when rehabilitation works will commence.

W12    Mr Mandumbwa (Mulobezi) - to ask the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Development:

(a)    when the Simungoma-Mulobezi-Luampa road will be tarred;

(b)    whether there are any plans to construct a bridge at Zowe;

(c)    if so, when construction works will commence; and

(d)    if there are no such plans, why.

W13    Mr Ng’onga (Kaputa) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    what legal framework governs the administration of the fight against HIV/AIDS programmes in Zambia;

(b)    whether the current legal framework is sufficient to address challenges in the fight against HIV/AIDS pandemic;

(c)    if not, whether the Government has any plans to introduce legislation to strengthen the current legal framework; and

(d)    if so, when the plans will be implemented.

W14    Mr Lufuma (Kabompo) - to ask the Minister of Development Planning:

(a)    whether there are any statistics available to show the progress made in poverty reduction in 2016, in Zambia; and

(b)    what measures are being taken to reduce poverty to a national target of 30% from the current 60% as a response to Sustainable Development Goal No. 1 on poverty reduction.

W15    Mr Mutaba (Mwandi) - to ask the Minister of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection:

(a)    when rehabilitation of the water tank which burst in 2015 in Mwandi Parliamentary Constituency will commence;

(b)    what the cause of the delay in rehabilitating the tank is; and

(c)    whether the Government has any plans to tap water from the Zambezi River to supply Simungoma and Sankolonga communities considering that water from boreholes in these areas is salty.

W16    Mr P Phiri (Mkaika) - to ask the Minister of General Education:

(a)    when the 18 community and Government schools in Mkaika Parliamentary Constituency will be gazetted; and

(b)    what has caused the delay in gazetting the schools.

Report of the Committee on Local Governance, Housing and Chiefs’ Affairs:  That this House do adopt the Report of the Committee on Local Governance, Housing and Chiefs’ Affairs on the Report of the Auditor-General on the Review of the Operations of Local Authorities for the Financial Years Ended 31st December, 2013, 2014 and 2015, for the First Session of the Twelfth National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on 11th July, 2017.
