Report Summary

The object of the Bill is to amend the Local Government Act, so as to provide for:

 

  1. the establishment of the Local Government Equalisation Fund;
  2. the disbursement of funds from the Fund to councils;
  3. the deletion of the provision relating to the Government making grants and loans to councils; and
  4. matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.
