The objectives of the Bill are to:

  1. provide for the functions, powers, operations and financial management of the Office of the Public Protector;
  2. provide for the initiation and investigation of complaints;
  3. repeal and replace the Commission for Investigations Act, 1991; and
  4. provide for matters connected with, or incidental to, the foregoing.
