QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER
586 Mr Bwalya (Lupososhi) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education when construction of additional classroom blocks, in accordance with the Infrastructure Operational Plan, at the following schools in Lupososhi Parliamentary Constituency will commence:
(a) Chungu;
(b) Mutondo;
(c) Kapupu; and
(d) Kabombo.
587 Mr Chitafu (Kafulafuta) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:
(a) how many boreholes were sunk in Kafulafuta Parliamentary Constituency in 2013; and
(b) how many boreholes are earmarked to be sunk in 2014.
588 Mr Ng’onga (Kaputa) - to ask the Minister of Tourism and Art:
(a) how much land is required to establish a community conservation area;
(b) how the Government can assist the community in Kaputa District to establish the Kaputa Community Conservation Area; and
(c) how long it takes for the Government to stock a conservation area with wild life.
589 Mr Mucheleka (Lubansenshi) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:
(a) when the Government will release grants to the Local Authorities for restructuring of Council establishments; and
(b) when the Government will provide funds to the Local Authorities to enable them pay retirement benefits.
590 Mr Ng’onga (Kaputa) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education:
(a) when school desks and chairs were last distributed to schools in Kaputa District;
(b) how many desks and chairs were supplied;
(c) which schools benefited from the supply; and
(d) when the next consignment will be sent to the District.
591 Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:
(a) what proportion of the Road Transport and Safety Agency operations had been automated as of December, 2013;
(b) how many centres and provinces had been interconnected as of December, 2013; and
(c) when the exercise will be extended to the district level.
592 Mr I Banda (Lumezi) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:
(a) whether the road designs given to Sable Construction Company for the construction of township roads in Lundazi District are similar to the ones provided for township roads in Chipata District;
(b) why the quality of works done in Lundazi is poor compared to the quality of roads in Chipata; and
(c) what measures the Government will take to ensure improvement in the quality of works done on the township roads in Lundazi.
593 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:
(a) when the tarrying of the Mumbwa-Landless Corner Road will be completed; and
(b) when the following roads will be tarred:
(i) Mungwi Road which joins Mumbwa Road at Mwembeshi Satelite; and
(ii) Mumbwa-Blue Lagoon.
594 Mrs Mazoka (Pemba) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate the Muzoka-Chisekesi ring road in Pemba District and, if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
(b) if there are no such plans, why.
595 Mr Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education:
(a) when the construction of a university in Luapula Province will commence;
(b) what the name of the contractor for the project is;
(c) what the estimated cost of the project is;
(d) what the estimated time-frame for the completion of the project is; and
(e) what the student enrolment at the institution will be.
596 Mr Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Information and Broadcasting:
(a) when the Government will present the Freedom of Information Bill to Parliament for enactment; and
(b) what has caused the delay in presenting the Bill.
597 Mr Mutale (Kwacha) - to ask the Vice President:
(a) whether the Government has any plans to prosecute public officers who have been cited for wrong doing in the Auditor General’s Report;
(b) if so, when the process will commence; and
(c) why such officers are merely transferred from one Government Department to another as opposed to being penalised.
598 Mr Livune (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock:
(a) what disease caused the death of 28 head of cattle on 13th October, 2013 in Muchinje Village in Chief Musokotwane’s Chiefdom in Kazungula District; and
(b) what measures the Government has taken to help farmers not to incur further loss of cattle.
599 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Mines, Energy and Water Development when construction of dams in Nangoma Parliamentary Constituency will commence.
600 Mr Livune (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Information and Broadcasting when the Government will install FM radio and television transmitters in Kazungula District.
