QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER
1 Dr Kalumba - to ask the Minister of Health:
(a) what was the ratio of the following health providers to the population in Chienge District for the following categories in 2004:
(i) Doctors;
(ii) Registered nurses;
(iii) Enrolled nurses;
(iv) Midwives;
(v) Community health workers; and
(vi) Registered traditional healers; and
(b) what measures are in place to improve the ratio.
2 Mr I M Phiri - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:
(a) how much money was given to each Village Advisory Group (VAG) in Malambo Parliamentary Constituency in 2004; and
(b) what projects were undertaken by each VAG in the Constituency.
3 Mr Shumina - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:
(a) how many timber companies were operating in Kaoma District between 1994 and 2004;
(b) how much timber was transported from the District;
(c) what is the value of the timber in Kwacha;
(d) how many of these companies owe the Council and the Government in taxes; and
(e) what are the names and shareholders of these companies.{mospagebreak}
4 Mr Muleya - to ask the Minister of Education:
(a) when all the primary and basic schools in Choma Parliamentary Constituency will be provided with enough desks;
(b) when a borehole at Nakeempa Basic School in Choma District will be sunk; and
(c) whether there are any plans to electrify all basic schools in Choma Parliamentary Constituency to enable the pupils have evening studies.
5 Mr Kangwa - to ask the Minister of Health what measures the Government has taken to restrict HIV/AIDS patients to their places of origin.
6 Mr Lubinda - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry:
(a) whether there are any plans by the Government or the private sector to open a new cement factory in Zambia;
(b) if so, under what arrangements such a factory will be financed; and
(c) where will such a factory be located.
7 Ms Chipampe - to ask the Minister of Education how many schools in Luapula Province have been constructed using portal frames, constituency by constituency.
8 Mr Kalunga - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport:
(a) what specific rules has the Ministry put in place regarding the mounting of speed traps;
(b) how many speed trap machines in the country are functional; and
(c) whether these speed trap machines are adequate to assist in reducing over-speeding throughout the country.{mospagebreak}
9 Ms Jere - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:
(a) how many resident hunting licences were issued to each hunting block from 2002 to 2004;
(b) how much money was raised in total from these licences per hunting block, year by year;
(c) how many licences were issued to women and men applicants per hunting block, year by year; and
(d) how many of these at (c) above were foreigners and how many were indigenous Zambians.

Halt ZESCO Load Sheddings and Power Surges: That, in view of the strategic importance of the energy sector to the socio-economic development of Zambia, this House urges the Government to direct ZESCO management to immediately halt the current load sheddings and power surges throughout the country.
