QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

25 Mr I M Phiri - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources why the Zambia Wildlife Authority is discouraging contractors from using heavy machinery to construct feeder roads in Game Management Areas when contractors using labour-intensive methods are not provided with security.

26 Mr Shumina - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) what the latest development in terms of work and funding is on the following roads:

(i) Mongu/Kalabo road; (ii) Kaoma/Mushima road;
(iii) Katunda/Lukulu road; (iv) Luampa/Machile road; and
(v) Mongu/Senanga road; and

(b) what measures did the Government take to ensure that these projects were undertaken by December, 2005.

27 Mr Kalunga - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a) how many bags of maize were destroyed in storage sheds country-wide from January to August, 2005; and

(b) which district in Central Province produced the largest number of bags of maize during the period 2004 to 2005.

28 Mrs Musokotwane - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) when the Zimba-Livingstone road will be rehabilitated; and

(b) how much will it cost to rehabilitate the road.

29 Mr P B Musonda - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) how much fuel levy did the Government collect from motorists and other fuel users from 2001 to 2004, year by year; and

(b) how much fuel levy did the Government expect to collect by December, 2005.

30 Mr Sikota - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry:

(a) how many shares are held by the Zambia Privatization Trust Fund in various privatized companies;

(b) what are the values and number of shares being held in each of these companies; and

(c) whether there are any plans to have these shares divested to individual Zambians and, if so, what mechanism will be used for such divestiture.

31 Mr Kalunga - to ask the Minister of Education when the following schools in Muchinga Parliamentary Constituency will be rehabilitated:

(i) Kapeshi;
(ii) Kaseba;
(iii) Miswema;
(iv) Katota;
(v) Nansala; and
(vi) Kawama.

32 Mrs Musokotwane - to ask the Minister of Health when Anti-Retroviral Drugs will be distributed to rural health centres in the Katombola Parliamentary Constituency.

33 Mr Sikota - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) whether there are any immediate plans to approve and implement the proposal to turn Livingstone Trades Institute into a university;

(b) what would be the cost of such an exercise; and

(c) what extra facilities would be needed to transform the institute into a university.

34 Ms Nawakwi - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a) when will the Government introduce a cattle manure support programme to replace the Fertiliser Support Programme;

(b) how much cattle manure is required to produce the following:

(i) 8 tons of wheat;
(ii) 4 tons of soyabeans; and
(iii) 1 hectare of sugarcane; and

(c) how many commercial farmers use cattle manure to produce the following crops:

(i) wheat;
(ii) sugarcane;
(iii) coffee; and
(iv) soyabeans.
