QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

65 Dr Kalumba - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how much money did Zambia spend on peace mediation from 1990 to 2003 in the Congo DRC Peace Process and the Angolan Peace Process;

(b) how much of this cost was borne by:

(i) Zambian tax payers; and
(ii) donors; and

(c) whether these costs were justified.

66 Dr Kalumba - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural
Resources whether there have been surveys undertaken by the Heritage Conservation Commission authorities in Mweru-wa-Ntipa National Park to establish the existence of significant archeological heritage sites.

67 Mr Sikota - to ask the Minister of Labour and Social Security:

(a) what is the current minimum wage for workers in the hotel and catering industry for various categories of workers; and

(b) whether there any plans to revise the minimum wages for employees and, if so, when.

68 Mr Sikota - to ask the Minister of Education:{mospagebreak}

(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate schools and colleges in Livingstone and, if so, which schools and when; and

(b) what will be the cost of such rehabilitation.

69 Mrs I M Wina - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) when the Peace Corps programme in Zambia started;

(b) which provinces are now covered by the programme in Zambia; and

(c) when the programme will be extended to other provinces.

70 Mr Sichinga - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) what happened to the Gulf-Stream III Presidential aircraft which was transferred from Roan Air and previously used by the Republican President up until 2001;

(b) whether the aircraft was sold and, if so, to whom and for how much; and

(c) how was the money from the sale utilized and to whom the payment was made.

71 Mr Sichinga - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) what the contractual arrangements are regarding the current Presidential aircraft;

(b) how is the President’s security assured if the aircraft is merely hired;

(c) who owns the aircraft;

(d) how much did it cost in hiring the aircraft in 2003, 2004 and 2005, year by year; and

(e) whether the funds at (d) above are not enough to purchase a Zambian-owned Presidential aircraft.{mospagebreak}

72 Mr Moonde - to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs how many missions
abroad the country has and whether there are any plans to reduce these missions.

73 Mr Moonde - to ask the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development
whether there have been any preparations for the FIFA 2010 World Cup taking place in South Africa in terms of infrastructure and other requirements and, if not, why.

74 Mr Sikota - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing whether
there are any plans to construct fly-over bridges, like the one at Lusaka’s Manda Hill on the Great East Road/Addis Ababa Drive, in other cities in Zambia and, if so, when and where.

75 Mr Sikota - to ask the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General:

(a) what is the estimated cost of holding a referendum and the breakdown of such costs; and

(b) what is the estimated cost of having a constituent assembly and the breakdown of such costs.

76 Mr Sejani - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how many people have been convicted for plundering Zambia’s resources since the fight against corruption started in 2002;

(b) how many nolle prosequis have been entered during the same period; and

(c) how much money and property have been recovered from the plunderers.

77 Mr Sejani - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how many of Zambia’s districts are affected by food shortages following last season’s drought; and

(b) how much relief food the Government has delivered to each of these districts.

78 Mr Mwila - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how much money was provided for the Copperbelt Diversification Programme since its inception and who are the beneficiaries; and

(b) what progress has the programme so far made.

79 Ms Chipampe - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how much money was released to rehabilitate feeder roads in Luapula Province under the Poverty Reduction Programme from April to September, 2005; and

(b) how much of this amount was allocated to Nchelenge District.

80 Mrs I M Wina - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) which donor countries have projects in each province; and

(b) which international non-governmental organisations are operating in each province and on which projects.
