QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

120 Mr Mukanga - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development what tax concessions were given to the following mines at privatisation:

(i) Bwana Mkubwa;
(ii) Mopani Copper Mines;
(iii) Luanshya Mines; and
(iv) KCM Mines.

121 Mr Mukanga - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) what procedures are followed by the Government when signing an international treaty; and

(b) why are international treaties and conventions difficult to domesticate.

122 Mr Mukanga - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply how many tarred roads have been repaired or resurfaced on the Copperbelt, district by district.

123 Mr Sikota - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how many Cabinet and Deputy Ministers were in Kasempa Parliamentary Constituency on official duties from 21st January, 2005 to 5th March, 2005 and who were they;

(b) on which dates were the people in (a) above in the area and what official duties was each doing; and

(c) what was the cost to Government for each of these visits and what was the breakdown for each visit in terms of accommodation, transport, fuel, allowances for the Ministers, Deputy Ministers and their drivers and other support staff on the tours.

124 Mrs Musokotwane - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) how much interest has accrued from the eighteen billion Kwacha designated for the Zimba/Livingstone Road which has been lying in a bank for more than a year; and

(b) how has this interest been used.

125 Mrs Musokotwane - to ask the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General how much compensation has been paid to the families of the Kazungula Pontoon accident of September, 2003, per family.

126 Mr Lubinda - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how many Northern Rhodesians were conscripted into the British Army during World War II;

(b) how many of those at (a) above died during the war;

(c) what kind of relief was provided to the estates of those at (b) above; and

(d) how was the support provided to Northern Rhodesians who took part in World War II compared with that provided to British nationals who took part in the same war.

127 Mr Mukanga - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how many expatriates were granted work permits to work in the mines from 2001 to 2005, year by year; and

(b) how many of those at (a) above are degree holders.

128 Mr Mukanga - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) how many boreholes have been sunk in the following areas since independence:

(i) Minambe;
(ii) Kasombo; and
(iii) Valley Dam Settlement; and

(b) where do the communities in the areas at (a) above draw their drinking water from.

129 Mr Mukanga - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) how many vehicles were stolen on the Copperbelt from 2000 to 2004; and

(b) how many of these vehicles were recovered in the same period.

Supplementary Appropriation (2004) - Bill to confirm the supplementary expenditure of moneys aggregating three hundred and seventy four billion, three hundred six million, seven hundred seventy thousand, eight hundred and eighty kwacha required for the services of the Republic during the financial year ended 31st December, 2004. Excess Expenditure Appropriation (2003) - Bill to approve the excess expenditure of the moneys aggregating sixty-eight billion, three hundred and eight million, forty-four thousand, five hundred and seventy-seven kwacha required for the services of the Republic during the financial year ended 31st December, 2003.
