QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

223 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development what social responsibilities have the new mine investors taken up since the purchase of the mines.

224 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning what measures have been put in place to encourage the banking sector to provide credit at manageable lending rates.

225 Mr Chama - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) why only one medical doctor has been deployed to man Mbereshi and St. Paul’s Mission Hospitals;

(b) when construction of Mushota Clinic in Kawambwa District, which was started during the previous Government administration, will be completed; and
(c) when radio communication facilities and an ambulance will be provided to the nine (9) clinics in Pambashe Parliamentary Constituency.

226 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development why the Ministry has given a blind eye to the development and promotion of mineral resources in Mwense District.

227 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning when a deliberate policy to increase the levels of budget allocations to the following sectors will be introduced:

(i) health;
(ii) education;
(iii) local government; and
(iv) community development.

Report of the Select Committee to Scrutinise the Ministerial Appointments of Mr Alec Pulu Malichi, Colonel Crispin Mukumano, Mr John Katepa, Mr Wellington Chitalu Chellah, Mrs Nancy Kalikeka Phiri and Ms Elizabeth N Kachamba, as Members of the Board of Regulators for the Communications Authority of Zambia: That this House do adopt the Report of the Select Committee, for the Fifth Session of the Ninth National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on 5th April, 2006, to scruitinise the appointments of Mr Alec Pulu Malichi, Colonel Crispin Mukumano, Mr John Katepa, Mr Wellington Chitalu Chellah, Mrs Nancy Kalikeka Phiri and Ms Elizabeth N Kachamba, as Members of the Board of Regulators for the Communications Authority of Zambia.
