QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

234 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a) how many quantities of copper and manganese were mined in Mwense District from 1990 to 2005;

(b) which companies were involved in the mining at (a) above;

(c) what was the value of the mined minerals during the same period; and

(d) how much, in terms of royalties, was paid to Chiefs Kashiba, Mulundu and Katuta of Mwense District.

235 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning what was the trend of investment in Government Securities in the last five years up to 31st December, 2005.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W25 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning how much foreign currency was brought into the country for investment through the following sectors from 1990 to 2005, year by year:

(i) agriculture;
(ii) manufacturing;
(iii) tourism;
(iv) small-scale mining; and
(v) trading.

W26 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) what long term contracts were entered into and terminated for the supply of fuel from 1990 to 2005;

(b) what was the cost of each contract;

(c) who were the contractors; and

(d) why were the contracts terminated in each respective case.

W27 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry:

(a) what has been achieved from regional integration since 1990 through the following:

(i) NEPAD;
(ii) SADC; and
(iii) COMESA;

(b) what benefits quantitatively have accrued to the development of the Zambian economy in US dollars from 1990 to 2005; and

(c) how have the local people benefited.

W28 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services:

(a) how many children’s homes were assisted by the Government from 1991 to 2005;

(a) how much financial assistance was provided to each home in the same period;

(c) what are the names of these homes and where are they located; and

(d) how many children are in each home.
