QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

243 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) what was the status of the long term bond as of 31st December, 2005;

(b) what has been its impact on the economy; and

(c) who is accessing this bond.

244 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning what were the levels of Government borrowing from local financial institutions from 1996 to 2005.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W41 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) what were the achievements of the Structural Adjustment Programme from 1990 to 2005, year by year; and

(b) what was the measurable impact of the Structural Adjustment Programme on the less privileged in the same period.

W42 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning what measures were taken to stimulate investment on the stock market by the institutional investors from 1996 to 2005.

W43 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Lands:

(a) how much customary land belonged to the Chiefs, province by province, as of 31st December, 2005;

(b) what measures have been taken to sensitise the Chiefs to release more land; and

(c) how much customary land was released by Chiefs for alienation and exploitation from 2001 to 2005, province by province.

W44 Mr Kalifungwa - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a) what action did the Ministry take to develop and promote mineral resources in Zambia, district by district, from 1990 to 2005;

(b) what minerals are in each province as a result of the action at (a); and

(c) what plans has the Ministry taken to exploit minerals country-wide in the next five years for economic development.

Formulation of the Electoral Rules and Regulations: That, in view of the recent enactment of the Electoral Act, 2006, this House urges the Government to urgently facilitate the formulation of appropriate Electoral Rules and Regulations in accordance with the new electoral law, before the date of the General and Presidential Elections is announced.
