QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

11 Mr Simuusa (Nchanga) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development what measures the Government and the Konkola Copper Mines Plc have taken to protect the residents of Nchanga South Township, who live close to the Nchanga Mine Plant, from the following:

(i) noise;
(ii) air pollution; and
(iii) ground vibration.

12 Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Education when Masuku High School in Choma, which is just a few metres away from ZESCO power lines, will be electrified.

13 Mr Chimbaka (Bahati) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) what caused the delay in inaugurating the Luapula Water and Sewerage Company in Mansa District;

(b) when the broken-down sewer and water pipes in the Zambia Compound and Senama Townships in Bahati Parliamentary     Constituency will be replaced; and

(c) when the collapsed sewer ponds in Mansa town will be rehabilitated.

14 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services why disabled persons in Chilubi District were not receiving assistance from the Social Welfare Department despite being registered with the Department.

15 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) when the Ministry will drill boreholes in the following villages in Chipili Parliamentary Constituency:

 (i) Mukonshi;
 (ii) Mimbulu;
 (iii) Musalango;
 (iv) Mukunto; and
 (v) Mupeta; and

(b) how much money is required to carry out the works at (a)  above.

16 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when the Great North Road will be resurfaced and tarred in order to reduce road traffic accidents.

17 Mrs R M Musokotwane (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) what measures the Government has taken to reduce the dust on the Zimba-Livingstone road diversion; and

(b) whether the people living along the above road will be compensated since they inhale huge amounts of dust twenty-four hours each day, which is detrimental to their health.

18 Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing when the Ministry will build a modern market in Chililabombwe Parliamentary Constituency.

19 Mr Chimbaka (Bahati) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs why the Ministry has stopped providing motorcycles and bicycles to police officers in rural areas in order to alleviate the transport problems they face.
20 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives
how much money is allocated as monthly financial grants to the following institutions:

(i) Mpika College of Agriculture; and
(ii) Monze College of Agriculture.
