QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

169 Mr P P Chanda (Kankoyo) -  to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) how many road blocks are mounted throughout the country; and

(b) how many of the roadblocks above operate for 24 hours a day.

170 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) when the Government will complete the electrification of Kanshimba Basic School in Chipili Parliamentary Constituency;

(b) what the estimated cost of completing the electrification exercise at (a) above is; and

(c) what caused the delay in completing the exercise above.

171 Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) when a high school will be constructed at Emusa in Chasefu Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b) when the dilapidated structures at Lundazi Secondary School in Lundazi Parliamentary Constituency will be rehabilitated.

172 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a) when the Government will recapitalise Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia (NCZ);

(b) what the total indebtedness of NCZ is;

(c) who the shareholders of NCZ are;

(d) whether any dividends were paid to the Government from 2006 to 2008 and, if so, how much, year by year;

(e) what the total salary arrears for all the workers at NCZ are; and

(f) when the salary arrears at (e) above will be cleared.

173 Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Education when the Government will electrify the following education institutions considering that the ZESCO power lines are close to them:

(i) Msuzi Basic School;
(ii) Kapiri Middle Basic School;
(iii) Chijemu Basic School;
(iv) Kamunyunga Basic School;
(v) Kapichila Basic School;
(vi) Chilola Basic School;
(vii) Mwase High School;
(viii) Lusuntha High School; and
(ix) Chiginya Basic School.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W12 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry:

(a) how much foreign investment, in United States dollars, companies from the following countries brought to Zambia
 from 2006 to 2007, sector by sector:

(i) India;
(ii) China; and
(iii) South Korea; and

(b) how many jobs were created from the investment at (a) above during the same period, sector by sector.

W13 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) how much money the Government owed the following institutions for the supply of water and other services as of 31st December, 2008:

(i) Nkana Water and Sewerage Company;
(ii) Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company;
(iii) Southern Water and Sewerage Company; and
(iv) Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company;

(b) in which period the above debts were incurred by the Government, company by company; and

(c) how the debts have affected the operations of the companies at (a) above.

W14 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Health how much money the Government spent on combating the following diseases from 2007 to 2008 country-wide:

(i) Malaria;
(ii) Tuberculosis;
(iii) Meningitis;
(iv) Cancer;
(v) Renal failure;
(vi) Diabetes; and
(vii) High and Low Blood Pressure.

W15 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Education how much money was owed to ZESCO and Kafubu Water and Sewerage Company in utility bills from 2007 to 2008 by the following schools:

(i) Mpatamatu High School;
(ii) Nkulumashiba High School;
(iii) Twashuka High School;
(iv) Roan Antelope High School;
(v) Nkamba Basic School;
(vi) Fisansa Basic School;
(vii) Kafubu Basic School;
(viii) Nkulumashiba Basic School;
(ix) Mwaiseni Basic School;
(x) Roan Basic School;
(xi) Chaisa Basic School; and
(xii) Kansumbi Basic School.
