QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

37 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) how many refugee camps are currently in the country;

(b) how many refugees are in the camps at (a) above, nationality by nationality;

(c) how many refugees were repatriated in 2007; and

(d) what would be the benefits to the indigenous Zambians of allowing refugees to settle in Zambia.

38 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Education how many primary and basic schools were built in Mfuwe Parliamentary Constituency from 1991 to 2007.

39 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) how much money was spent on procuring the two new pontoons at Kazungula;

(b) which company is responsible for servicing the pontoons;

(c) how often are the pontoons serviced; and

(d) how much does the Government spend on each service.

40 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) what partnership agreements exist between the Governments of Zambia and India with reference to INDO-Zambia Bank Ltd; and

(b) what the names of the Managing Directors of the Indo-Zambia Bank Ltd are from inception to-date.

41 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) when the ban on the sale of alcohol in markets will be enforced; and

(b) whether the Ministry will provide alternative places for traders currently dealing in alcohol in markets.

42 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Education when construction of a high school in Gwembe District will commence.

43 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Health what measures the Government has taken to ensure that expectant mothers and under-five children access medical facilities within walkable distances in rural areas.

44 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Vice-President:

(a) how many vehicles were bought for the Electoral Commission of Zambia prior to the General Elections held on 28th September, 2006; and

(b) why some vehicles for the Electoral Commission of Zambia bear GRZ numbers while others bear private numbers.

45 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development why ZESCO load shedding only targets high density areas such as Mutendere, Chawama and Mandevu and not low density areas like Kabulonga, Woodlands, Ibex Hill and Northmead.

46 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when the Government will tar the road from Woodlands Stadium to Chalala residential area in Lusaka.
47 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) when public places such as markets, shopping centres and churches, will be provided with the following:

(i) toilets; and
(ii) waste bins; and

(b) when the Ministry will ban the off-loading of goods in front of shops by truck drivers and shop owners, thereby inconveniencing shoppers.

48 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) how many Government vehicles were involved in road traffic accidents from 2002 to-date; and

(b) how much the Government lost due to the accidents above.

QUESTION FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W1 Mr Mweemba (Magoye) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) how many properties belonging to local authorities were rented by Government ministries from 1986 to 2007, province by province;

(b) how much is due in rent arrears to the local authorities in the above period; and

(c) how much is still outstanding in rent arrears in the same period at (a) above.
