QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER
461 Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Justice:
(a) when Musele Local Court in Solwezi District will be officially opened; and
(b) when staff will be posted to Chief Mukumbi’s Local Court in Solwezi District.
462 Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Education whether the Government has plans to assist the people in Chief Chibwika’s area construct a high school.
463 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:
(a) how much money was spent on the repair of the Mwambashi-Sabina Bridge on the Chingola/Kitwe road from 2004 to 2007; and
(b) how much money is currently required to repair and improve the condition of the Bridge at (a) above in order to prevent another Chinyunyu disaster.
464 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:
(a) when the terminal benefits kept in trust for the miners working for the Mopani Copper Mines Plc will be given to them;
(b) how much interest has accrued on the terminal benefits at (a) above;
(c) on what terms the terminal benefits are being kept in trust; and
(d) whether the Government or the Mopani Copper Mines Plc is responsible for paying the miners the dues above.
465 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:
(a) how much the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) owes landlords whose houses are being rented by its officers of the rank of investigation officer and above;
(b) for how long the debt at (a) above has been outstanding; and
(c) what measures DEC has instituted to clear the outstanding debt.
466 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:
(a) when the Government will repair the Kamani Bridge in Chipili Parliamentary Constituency;
(b) how much the repair works will cost; and
(c) when did the Government last work on the Bridge.
467 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:
(a) how many agricultural extension officers are currently in Mfuwe Parliamentary Constituency, chiefdom by chiefdom; and
(b) how many bags of fertiliser were sent to the Constituency in the 2007/2008 farming season.
468 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Lands when the Ministry will approve land for the Mpumba Conservation Trust in Mfuwe Parliamentary Constituency.
469 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives:
(a) how much the Government owes the farmers who made upfront payments for the fertiliser under the Fertiliser Support Programme during the 2007/2008 farming season but did not receive any fertiliser;
(b) how much has been refunded so far; and
(c) how much is still outstanding and from which districts.
470 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:
(a) whether the Government plays any supervisory role in the administration of the Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE);
(b) who the bankers of LuSE are;
(c) what the monthly wage bill of LuSE is; and
(d) whether LuSE has recorded any profits from inception to-date and, if so, how much.
QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER
W31 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services:
(a) how many women’s clubs in Chipili Parliamentary Constituency benefited from Government financial support from 2001 to 2007;
(b) how many of these women’s clubs have accounted for the financial support and how many have not;
(c) what action the Government has taken on the women’s clubs that have failed to account for the financial support given to them; and
(d) in what ways have the women’s clubs at (a) above benefited from the financial support by the Government.
W32 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:
(a) how many people benefited from the Tourism Development Fund from 2005 to 2007, province by province; and
(b) what the names of the beneficiaries at (a) above are and the districts they come from.
W33 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:
(a) how many Fisheries Officers are in the Ministry, province by province;
(b) whether the numbers at (a) above are sufficient to sustain the growth of the fisheries industry in Zambia; and
(c) when the Fisheries Department at district level will be delinked from the Office of the District Agricultural Co-ordinator so that it is able to operate under its own Head of Department.
W34 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development:
(a) how many youth skills training centres were constructed country-wide from 1992 to June, 2008;
(b) how much money was granted to youth clubs in Northern Province in 2007, district by district; and
(c) of the clubs which benefited from funding, how many are still operational and progressing well.
