QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

471 Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Vice-President when the Western Province will be compensated in the form of infrastructure development for hosting liberation movements.

472 Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when feasibility studies for the Lukulu/Kaoma road will commence following the allocation of K1 billion by the Road Development Agency towards the project.

473 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) which areas, country-wide, have been earmarked for electrification in 2008 under the Rural Electrification Programme;

(b) what is the total cost of the project at (a) above; and

(c) which areas country-wide were electrified under the same programme.

474  Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development:

(a) how much was spent to send boxers to Algeria for the International  Boxing Championships;

(b) why was Zambia represented by only two boxers at this boxing event; and

(c) what results did the two boxers at (b) above bring back home.

475 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) how many police officers in the Marine Section of the Zambia Police Force are trained;

(b) to which police stations were the trained officers above posted, province by province; and

(c) how many of the officers at (a) above are trained as ocean divers.

476 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) how many modern speed boats were acquired for police operations country-wide from 2000 to 2007; and

(b) how the distribution was done.

477 Mr R C Banda (Milanzi) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing how many boreholes were sunk in the Eastern Province from 2005 to 2007, district by district.

478 Mr R C Banda (Milanzi) - to ask the Minister of  Local Government and Housing when the Government will provide small district councils with vehicles, road construction and maintenance equipment.

479 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs whether police officers who are not accommodated are paid housing  allowances and, if so, at what percentage.

480 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs why traffic police officers do not display warning signs 100 meters away from the position where they mount speed trap cameras.

481 Mr Chisanga (Mkushi South) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a) when agricultural extension officers will be sent to Luano Valley  in Mkushi South Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b) whether there are plans to introduce crops suitable for the valley areas in Mkushi South Parliamentary Constituency.

482 Mr Chisanga (Mkushi South) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources what measures the Government has taken to reduce the following:

(i) indiscriminate cutting down of trees in Ndola, Kitwe and Luanshya; and
(ii) transportation of timber to Botswana on a daily basis.

483 Mr V Mwale (Chipangali) - to ask the Minister of Health when the Ministry will establish a treatment centre for HIV/AIDS positive people in Chipangali Parliamentary Constituency since many of  them cannot afford to travel to the nearest centre in Chipata.

484 Mr V Mwale (Chipangali) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs whether the Ministry is aware of the high crime rate in Chitandika and Chipangali areas in Chipangali Parliamentary Constituency and, if so, what measures have been taken to establish a police post in the two areas.

485 Mr P P Chanda (Kankoyo) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) how many pathologists are practising in Zambia, province by   province; and

(b) how many pathology laboratories are currently in the country.
