QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

26 Mr Beene (Itezhi-tezhi) - to ask the Minister of Veterinary Services, Livestock and Fisheries:

(a) when the Government will construct dip tanks in Itezhi-tezhi Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b) whether the Ministry has any plans to construct abattoirs in the Constituency.

27 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing whether there are any plans to upgrade the quality of housing accommodation in compounds around Lusaka by building standard houses.

28 Dr Chishya (Pambashe) - to ask the Minister of Veterinary Services, Livestock and Fisheries:

(a) when Chishinga Cattle Ranch will be restocked with cattle and its operations revived; and

(b) whether the Government has any plans to privatise the ranch.

29 Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Education how many privately owned educational institutions country-wide were offering the following as of 30th June, 2009:

(a) grades 1 to 7;

(b) grades 1 to 9;

(c) grades 1 to 12; and

(d) college or university qualifications.

30 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) when the provisions of the Banking and Financial Services Act which deal with the amount of money to be invested in micro financing institutions will be reviewed;

(b) how many micro-financing institutions were registered under the above Act as of January, 2009; and

(c) how many of these institutions were operational as of June, 2009.

31 Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply whether there are any plans to extend the Mutanda-Mwinilunga road T5 so that it connects with Jimbe on the border with Angola.

32 Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) when a medical doctor will be posted to Kanyanga Zonal Rural Health Centre in Chasefu Parliamentary Constituency;
and

(b) when additional medical doctors will be posted to Lundazi District Hospital.

33 Mrs Chitika-Molobeka (Kawambwa) - to ask the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services:

(a) when the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) will extend television reception to Kawambwa Tea Company Estates; and

(b) how much money will be spent for the provision of the service to the area.

34 Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Education when additional classrooms and teachers’ houses will be built at Luampa High School in Luampa Parliamentary Constituency.

35 Mr C Mulenga (Chinsali Central) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) how many residential houses the Government constructed for teachers in Chinsali Parliamentary Constituency from 2006 to 2008; and

(b) how many teachers were not accommodated by the Government in the constituency as of 30th December, 2008.

36 Mr Sing’ombe (Dundumwezi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) whether there are any traditional leaders holding diplomatic passports, province by province; and

(b) how many of these passports were issued from 2007 to-date.

37 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

 (a) what the annual turnover of the following companies in Luanshya is:

(i) Zambia Metal Fabrication Limited;
(ii) Antelope Milling; and
(iii) Mpelembe Drilling;

(b) how much tax each company paid to the Government in 2008; and

(c) what corporate social responsibility activities the companies undertook in 2008.

38 Mr Milupi (Luena) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services when the Social Cash Transfer Scheme will be extended to Luena Parliamentary Constituency to assist the poor.

39 Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Labour and Social Security:

(a) how many trade unions were registered from 2001 to 2009, year by year; and

(b) what measures the Government has taken to reduce on the number of trade unions in the country.

40 Mr Mwapela (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) whether the new design of the Mongu-Kalabo road is able to withstand the floods so as to benefit the people of Western Province and the country, in general;

(b) when construction of the above road will be completed; and

(c) whether the Government is aware that the non-completion of this road continues to pose a great risk to the poor people of Kalabo who have to cross over 70km of the plains to reach Mongu and vice-versa.
