QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

126 Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) how many vehicles the Government had bought for Chiefs country-wide as of 30th June, 2009;

(b) when the Government will buy additional vehicles for the remaining Chiefs; and

(c) whether the Ministry has started recovering the loans from the Chiefs who received their vehicles earlier.

127 Mr Sejani (Mapatizya) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) how many paramount and senior chiefs there are country - wide, province by province;

(b) what the qualifications are for a person to be referred to as a Senior Chief; and

(c) whether there is a hierarchy of promotion among Chiefs.

128  Mr Kambwili (Roan)  - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) why major buildings and construction works are contracted to Chinese companies; and

(b) how many construction projects in the education and health sectors are currently being undertaken by Chinese owned companies.

129 Mrs R M Musokotwane (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing when the Ministry will build a modern bus stop facility at  the Kazungula border post.

130 Mr Sejani (Mapatizya) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) when the Government launched the Decentralisation Policy; and

(b) what are the specific steps the Government has taken to implement the policy.
