QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

136  Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a)    when more houses will be built for police officers in Chililabombwe Parliamentary Constituency;
(b)    when Chililabombwe Main Police Station will be rehabilitated; and
(c)    when a prison will be built in Chililabombwe.

137    Mrs Chitika-Molobeka (Kawambwa) - to ask the Minister of Education when the Government will construct teachers’ houses at the following schools in Kawambwa Parliamentary Constituency:

(a)    Tea Estate Basic;
(b)    Tea Estate High;
(c)    Shikalaba Basic;
(d)    Lusambo Basic; and
(e)    Ntulo Basic.

138    Mr Mwapela (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Vice President and Minister of Justice:

(a)    when the Task Force on Corruption will be disbanded following the adoption and launch of the national anti-
         corruption policy by the Government; and
(b)    when the Task Force on Corruption was last audited.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W7    Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)    how much money was paid to the liquidators of the Metal Marketing Corporation (MEMACO) as liquidation fees and
        charges;
(b)    how much money was realised from the sale of houses owned by MEMACO in the following countries:

(i)    the United Kingdom;
(ii)   the United States of America; and
(iii)  Belgium;
(c)  how much money the liquidators realised from selling flats and houses owned by MEMACO in Zambia;
(d)  which liquidator bought blocks of flats from MEMACO;
(e)  who were the lawyers engaged in the liquidation of MEMACO and how much they were paid in legal fees;
(f)   how much money was held in all the MEMACO Kwacha accounts at the time of liquidation; and
(g)  how much money was held in the UK and USA MEMACO accounts at the time of voluntary liquidation.

W8  Mr C Mulenga (Chinsali Central) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)  what the total number of gynaecologists in Zambia was as of 30th June, 2009;
(b)  in which Government hospitals the gynaecologists are stationed;
(c)  how long it takes to train a gynaecologist in Zambia; and
(d)  of the gynaecologists in (a), how many are Zambians.

W9  Mr Milupi (Luena) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a)  how many boreholes were sunk and fully equipped with hand pumps in the following wards in Luena Parliamentary
      Constituency as of 30th June, 2009:

(i)   Limulunga;        
(ii)   Mabili;
(iii)  Ushaa;        
(iv) Ikwichi;
(v)  Namboma;        
(vi) Nangula;
(vii) Simaa; and        
(viii) Ndanda;

(b)  why the number of boreholes is very low; and
(c)  when the Government will provide additional boreholes to ensure that people in the Constituency have access         to safe drinking water.

W10  Mr Milupi (Luena) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services how much money, and on what programmes, the Ministry spent in Luena Parliamentary Constituency from 2001 to 2008, year by year.

W11  Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)  how much money was committed towards budget support to the Zambian Government from 2008 to 2009 by the    following countries, year by year:

(i)    Germany;        
(ii)   Norway;
(iii)   United Kingdom;    
(iv)  United States of America;
(v)   China; and        
(vi)  Japan;

(b)   of the pledges in (a), how much money was actually released for that purpose, year by year; and
(c)    whether there has been any withholding of the pledges in (a) and, if so, by which countries and why.

W12  Mr Mwapela (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a)    what the peasant farmers’ perception of the Fertiliser Support Programme (FSP) is country-wide; and
(b)    how many peasant farmers have benefited from the FSP from its inception to-date, district by district.

W13 Mr Sejani (Mapatizya) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a)    what the total number of Government contracts awarded to various contractors in the following sectors country-wide from 2008 to 2009, year by year, was:

(i)    road construction and rehabilitation;
(ii)   school construction and rehabilitation; and
(iii)  clinic and hospital construction and rehabilitation;

(b)  of the contracts above, how many were awarded to:

(i)   Chinese contractors;
(ii)   Zambian contractors; and
(iii)   contractors from other countries; and

(c)   in each case at (b), what the total value of the contract was.
