QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

417    Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Labour and Social Security:

(a)    when the Government will implement the Industrial and Labour Relations (Amendment) Act No. 8 of 2008 with regard to trade union leaders who are no longer employees of companies they earlier worked for but have continued holding trade union offices;

(b)    what factors caused the delay in the implementation of the Amendment Act; and

(c)    how many trade unions are affected by the Amendment Act.

418    Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when the bridge on the Kabompo River that connects Mwinilunga East and Solwezi East Parliamentary Constituencies will be repaired.

 QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W37    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    how much the Ministry of Health spent on the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS related illnesses from 2006 to June, 2009 country-wide;

(b)    which age group has the lowest prevalence rate; and

(c)    what some of the reasons are for the high prevalence rates in some provinces.

W38    Dr Machungwa (Luapula) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a)    how many individuals acquired Zambian citizenship from 2002 to 2009, year by year;

(b)    how many people renounced their Zambian citizenship in the same period; and

(c)    how many times the Citizenship Board met to consider applications related to citizenship in each of the years at (a).

W39    Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Vice President and Minister of Justice:

(a)    how many criminal cases are pending in the courts of law in the following areas:

(i)    Kitwe;
(ii)   Ndola;
(iii)  Lusaka; and
(iv) Luanshya; and

(b)  how many people are in police custody pending hearing of  their cases in the towns above.

W40 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)    why pension contributions of some teachers were being channelled to NAPSA instead of the Pensions Board; and

(b)    how many teachers had their pension contributions directed to NAPSA instead of the Pensions Board in the following provinces:

(i)     Northern;
(ii)    Luapula;
(iii)   Copperbelt;
(iv)   Lusaka;
(v)   Southern; and
(vi)  Central.

W41 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing how many local authorities are run by qualified principal officers, province by province.

W42 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    who the members of the Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ) were as of 31st December, 2009, by name;

(b)   of the CHAZ members, which ones run the following facilities, province by province;

(i)    hospitals;
(ii)   health centres; and
(iii)  health posts; and

(c)  which members have employed their own medical doctors.

W43 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Defence:

(a)   how many defence forces personnel died from various causes from 2005 to 2008; and

(b)   how many families of the deceased above had received their terminal benefits as of 31st December, 2009.

W44 Mr Chitonge (Mwansabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a)    how many boreholes were sunk in Kawambwa District, from January, 2006 to August, 2009, Constituency by Constituency; and

(b)    how many boreholes will be sunk in Mwansabombwe Parliamentary Constituency by December, 2010, ward by ward.

W45 Mr Chitonge (Mwansabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)   how much money was collected as fuel levy in Luapula Province from 2006 to 2008, year by year;

(b)   of the amount collected, how much was retained in the province for road maintenance, year by year; and

(c)   which roads was the money spent on.

W46 Mr Chitonge (Mwansabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a)    which schools were rehabilitated by the Government in 2008 and 2009 in Mwansabombwe Parliamentary Constituency;

(b)    how much was spent on the rehabilitation works; and

(c)    how many teachers’ houses are earmarked for rehabilitation in 2010 and what the cost is, school by school.
