QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

423    Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Labour and Social Security what the current total establishment of the First Quantum Minerals Bwana Mkubwa Mine is.
    
424    Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a)    when the project to connect Mwata, in Chasefu Parliamentary Constituency, to the Malawi Electricity Grid will commence; and

(b)    when the project is expected to be completed.

425    Mrs Musokotwane (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a)    how many small-scale farmers will benefit from the K15 billion European Union (EU) Fund country-wide;

(b)    of the beneficiaries above, how many will be from Katombola Parliamentary Constituency; and

(c)    how much money will be spent on various programmes in Katombola Parliamentary Constituency.

426    Mr Munaile (Malole) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a)    when the Government will rehabilitate the Nseluka-Kayambi road in Malole Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b)    how much will be spent on the rehabilitation of the road.

427    Mr V Mwale (Chipangali) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when rehabilitation works on the Msandile bridge, destroyed by floods in 2007 in Chief Chinunda’s area, will commence.

428    Mr Nsanda (Chimwemwe) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing when Government Road in Chimwemwe Parliamentary Constituency, leading to Nakayombo Graveyard, will be considered for complete construction.

429    Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a)    whether international contractors are obliged to sub-contract local contractors in order to build the capacity of the local contractors; and

(b)    if not, when the Government will introduce measures aimed at building the capacity of local contractors.

430    Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services whether any women’s clubs were funded from 2006 to-date in Chililabombwe Parliamentary Constituency and, if so, how much was released to each club.

431    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a)    how many women were serving prison sentences country-wide as of 31st January, 2009;

(b)    how many Zambian women were arrested and imprisoned for drug trafficking offences outside Zambia between 16th March, 2009 and 16th March, 2010; and

(c)    of the above women arrested, how many were brought back to serve their prison sentences in the Zambian prisons.

432    Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs:

(a)    how many diplomatic missions Zambia has world-wide;

(b)    how many diplomats have been recalled from January 2009 to-date; and

(c)    what are the criteria used in appointing persons to serve in diplomatic missions abroad.

433    Mr Lumba (Solwezi Central) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport when Solwezi airstrip will be upgraded to a modern national airport.

434    Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services how many vulnerable people, such as widows, orphans and the aged, were supported by the Ministry in Western Province from 2008 to-date.

435    Mr Sing’ombe (Dundumwezi) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services:

(a)    how many people are on the Social Cash Transfer Scheme in Dundumwezi Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b)    of the beneficiaries at (a), how many have relocated to other Constituencies.

436    Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    how much money was spent by the Government on establishing the Cancer hospital;

(b)    what were the sources of funds for the establishment of the hospital; and

(c)    what the patient admission capacity of the Cancer hospital is.

437    Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry who Zambia’s largest trading partners are:

(a)    in the SADC region;

(b)    in Africa; and

(c)    outside Africa.

438    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when a police post will be established in Nambwa area on the Landless Corner/Mumbwa Road.

439    Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a)    what measures the Government has taken to find alternative trading places for vendors who were removed from the streets of Lusaka;

(b)    when permanent infrastructure will be built at COMESA market in Lusaka; and

(c)    when the new Soweto Market will be officially opened.

440    Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development whether the Government has any plans for the Chitokoloki Mission Mini Hydro Electric Power Station in Zambezi East Parliamentary Constituency and, if so, what the plans are.

441    Mr Malama (Mfuwe)     - to ask the Minister of Finance and National  Planning:

(a)    what measures the Government has taken to discourage Zambians from importing second-hand vehicles that discharge a lot of carbon emissions;

(b)    how much money has the Government raised from the Carbon Emission Surtax (Carbon Tax) from the time it was introduced to-date; and

(c)    how the Government intends to utilise the revenue raised from the Carbon Tax.

442    Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing whether the Ministry has any plans to source funds through a loan on behalf of the Lusaka City Council to enable the Council construct and tar roads in the city.
