QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

443    Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a)    whether there are any plans to increase electricity generation capacity at Musonda Falls Hydro Power Station to cater for the entire Luapula Province and, if so, when the plans will be implemented;

(b)    how much money is expected to be spent on the project; and

(c)    how much additional power, in megawatts, will be generated when the expansion project is completed.

444    Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Education when the Government will build a high school at Kaumbu in Zambezi District.

445    Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when the Government will construct an appropriate building for a police station in Kaoma District.

446    Mr C K Banda (Chasefu) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development when the following dams, whose spill-ways were washed away in 1998, will be rehabilitated:

(a)    Chiungwe;            
(b)    Kamone;
(c)    Pulani;            
(d)    Kumuzoole;
(e)    Khulamayembe; and    
(f)    Jalijali on Luwerezi river.

447    Mr V Mwale (Chipangali) - to ask the Minister of Education when a new secondary school will be built in Chipangali Parliamentary Constituency.

448    Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a)    when earth-moving equipment will be made available for hire to small scale miners country-wide;

(b)    what plans the Government has put in place to encourage Zambian miners to join the small-scale mining industry; and

(c)    how many indigenous Zambians are in the small-scale mining industry.

449    Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a)    when the distribution, country-wide, of farming inputs for the 2009/2010 farming season ended;

(b)    what the total amounts of inputs distributed were, country-wide; and

(c)    what the total cost of the exercise was.

450    Mr Lumba (Solwezi Central) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply what was the total value of road contracts awarded to indigenous Zambians from 2005 to 2009.

451    Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    what the patient admission capacity of the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) is; and

(b)    whether there are any plans to expand the UTH and increase the patient admission capacity.

452    Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when  the Lukulu-Katunda road will be tarred.

453    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport when the Government will provide fire hydrants for the following aerodromes:

(a)    Mbala;

(b)    Kasaba Bay;

(c)    Mansa;

(d)    Kasama; and

(e)    Solwezi.

454    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma)     - to ask the Minister of Education whether there are any plans by the Government to assist communities in rural areas construct better community school structures.

455     Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a)    how many contractors the Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) engaged for various works as of 31st March, 2010; and

(b)    how often KCM pays the contractors.

456    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning what the Government’s current debt to China is with regard to TAZARA.

457    Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:

(a)    what programmes the Government has put in place for tourist sites in Kanchibiya Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b)    what the Ministry is doing to market the sites.
