QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

458    Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a)    how much money was raised, in the form of electricity bills, by the Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO) in 2008 and 2009, country-wide;

(b)    how much money was owed to ZESCO in electricity bills as of December, 2009, country-wide; and

(c)    what the total debt incurred by ZESCO was as of December, 2009.

459    Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Labour and Social Security whether the Ministry conducts random checks, especially in shops, to ascertain how much the workers are paid and how long they work per day.

460    Mr Nsanda (Chimwemwe) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when the
police post in Itimpi Township, in Chimwemwe Parliamentary Constituency, will be upgraded.

461    Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a)    how many people died while serving prison sentences country-wide between 2006 and 2009; and
(b)    what were the causes of their deaths.

462    Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs whether the student who was shot at and injured by Police Officers in 2009 at the Copperbelt University has been compensated by the State and, if so, how much has been the compensation.

463    Mr Lumba (Solwezi Central) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a)    how many private firms have responded to the invitation to participate in Public Private Partnership on the Chingola-Solwezi road project;

(b)    what the closing date is for consideration of the applications; and

(c)    when the works on the road will commence.

464    Mr Sing’ombe (Dundumwezi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a)    how many individuals were shot dead by unknown people between 2000 and 2009 in Dundumwezi Parliamentary Constituency;

(b)    how many people were wounded by gunshots by criminals in the same period;

(c)    how many arrests were made; and

(d)    of the arrests made, how many were prosecuted and convicted.

465    Mr Malama (Mfuwe)     - to ask the Minister of Education which colleges in the country are earmarked for upgrading to university status.

466    Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a)    how scholarships from the following sources have been of benefit to the country:
    
(i)    co-operating partners;
(ii)    private sector; and
(iii)    foundations; and

(b)    whether the Ministry keeps a record of privately sponsored students outside Zambia.

467    Mrs Musokotwane (Katombola) -    to ask the Minister of Works and Supply how much money was spent on road rehabilitation in Kazungula District in 2009.
