QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

488 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) whether the Government will consider abolishing the Police Complaints Authority;

(b) what the establishment of the Police Complaints Authority is; and

(c) how many cases the Police Complaints Authority handled and concluded from 2001 to-date.

489 Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) how much money the Government realised in taxes from the following banking institutions:

(i) United Bank of Africa;
(ii) First National Bank; and
(iii) Access Bank;

(b) how much money the Government expects to realise in taxes in the next five years; and

(c) whether the Government expects to register more new banks and, if so, what the names of the new banks are.

490 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing how much land is available in Lusaka for the following:

(a) residential houses;

(b) sports and recreation facilities; and

(c) cemeteries.

491 Mrs Musokotwane (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) how many Zambian doctors worked in countries abroad from 2007 to-date;

(b) which countries did the doctors relocate to;

(c) how many foreign doctors were employed by the Ministry in the same period; and

(d) which countries the foreign doctors came from.
 
492 Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply what the total value of Chinese road equipment that was distributed by the Government to all Provincial Headquarters country-wide was.

493 Mr Munaile (Malole) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services:

(a) when a vehicle will be provided to the Provincial Development Centre at Mungwi in Malole Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b) when a vehicle was last provided by the Ministry to the centre above.

494 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Education when furniture will be provided to schools in rural areas, such as Chisala School in Nangoma Parliamentary Constituency.

495 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) how many foreigners were deported from Zambia from 2007 to-date;

(b) what offences were committed by the foreigners at (a); and

(c) which provinces had the highest number of deportees.
 
496 Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services whether there are any plans to start publishing local community newspapers in all the nine provinces.

497 Mr Lumba (Solwezi Central) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport:

(a) how many Zambian companies expressed interest in buying the 75% shares in ZAMTEL;

(b) why were the companies not short-listed;

(c) how much money will be paid to RP Capital as full consideration at the end of the privatisation process; and

(d) what measures have been taken to protect employees who may lose their jobs as a result of the privatisation.
 

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W48 Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) how many high schools there are country-wide, province by province; and

(b) of the high schools at (a), how many have laboratories.

W49 Mr Lumba (Solwezi Central) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) what the estimated cost of improving the water supply systems in all urban areas country-wide is;

(b) how much money was raised from water tariffs by all urban commercial water utilities from 2005 to-date;

(c) what measures have been taken to improve sanitation in urban areas; and

(d) whether there are any plans to replace pit latrines with water flushing toilets in urban areas.

W50 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Vice President and Minister of Justice:

(a) how many homes were affected by floods in 2009/2010 country-wide, province by province; and

(b) how many homes received aid from the Government and in what form.

W51 Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Defence:

(a) how many defence personnel died in peace keeping missions from 2006 to-date, year by year;

(b) how much money the Government has spent as compensation to defence personnel who were either injured or died whilst on duty; and

(c) what has been the benefit to the country following the sending of defence personnel on peace keeping missions.
