QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

503    Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a)    what measures the Ministry has taken to ensure that children stay in school to receive basic education for all; and

(b)    what measures have been introduced to ensure that the girl-child stays in school instead of going into early marriage.

504    Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    when the construction of Lusaka General Hospital at Chainama will be completed;

(b)    which contractor was engaged to construct the hospital;

(c)    how much money will be spent on completion of the project;

(d)    what is the planned patient accommodation capacity of the hospital; and

(e)    whether there are any plans to construct another hospital on the western part of the City of Lusaka.

505    Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Health when Lewanika General Hospital, in the Western Province, will start training State Registered Nurses as is obtaining in other provinces.

506    Mrs Musokotwane (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    whether there is evidence in Zambia that HIV/AIDS can be cured by traditional medicines and, if so, how many people have been cured; and
(b)    what the professional relationship, in terms of HIV/AIDS, is between the Ministry of Health and traditional healers.

507    Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a)    when work on the Copperbelt roads as advertised by the Road Development Agency will commence; and

(b)    what has caused the delay.
    
508    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry how many people had benefited from the Citizens Economic Empowerment Fund in Nangoma Parliamentary Constituency as of 31st March, 2010.

509    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a)    why expired maize seed was sold to a co-operative union at Katanta, in Chigwenge Ward in Chilubi District, during the 2009/2010 farming season; and

(b)    how the Government intends to redress the situation.

510    Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a)    when the Konkola Deep Mining project will be operational;

(b)    how much money Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) Plc has spent on the project so far; and

(c)    whether KCM is within the time-frame set for completing the project.

511    Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply when the Machile-Simungoma road in Sesheke District will be tarred.

512    Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a)    what the expected life span of the road maintenance equipment imported from China is; and

(b)    what the source of funding for the equipment was.

513    Mr Chazangwe (Choma Central) - to ask the Minister of Community Development and Social Services when the Government will provide loans to women clubs country-wide and, in particular, to women clubs in Choma Parliamentary Constituency to purchase hammer mills.

514    Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development when Lukulu District, in Western Province, will be connected to the national grid in line with the Rural Electrification Strategic Plan.

515    Mr Malama (Mfuwe)     - to ask the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services:

(a)    when the Ministry will compel Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) to increase broadcast time for all vernacular programmes on Radio One; and

(b)    which of the local languages on Radio One contributes the most in terms of revenue collections through advertisements.

516    Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a)    what the total number of science and mathematics teachers is country-wide; and

(b)    what the teacher-pupil ratio at (a) above is.

517    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Health when the Namabanga Rural Health Centre, in Sichazu Ward, will be operational.

518    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs what the total amount of money the Zambia Police Force Traffic Section raised in fines from January, 2008 to January, 2010 country-wide.

519    Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a)    which contractor originally undertook the construction of building structures at the University of Zambia Great East Road campus between 1965 and 1969;

(b)    whether the structures were completed in accordance with the plan;

(c)    if not, when the building structures will be completed; and

(d)    how much money is required to complete the structures according to the plan.

520    Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a)    when the Government will construct a high school in Chief Kopa’s area in Kanchibiya Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b)    what criteria are used by the Ministry to allocate and construct a high school in an area.

521    Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    when works on the expansion of Mambilima Health Clinic into a mini hospital will commence; and

(b)    what has caused the delay in starting the works on the project.

522    Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a)    how much money the Government spent on the construction of Kaungalweti bridge; and

(b)    when the bridge was last rehabilitated.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W56    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a)    how many bridges were washed away by torrential rains country-wide as of 31st March, 2010, province by province; and
(b)    how many, if any, have been rebuilt by the Government.

W57    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs how much money the Government realised from the sale of used Government property at missions abroad in the following continents from 2007 to 2009:

(a)    Europe;

(b)    Asia;

(c)    America; and

(d)    Africa.

W58    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to introduce incentives for members of the public who surrendered their firearms so as to reduce on poaching;

(b)    how many poachers were apprehended and subsequently convicted from 2007 to-date country-wide;

(c)    from which National Parks and Game Management Areas were most arrests made in this period; and

(d)    how many firearms were confiscated from the poachers.

W59    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning which foreign Governments gave grants to the Zambian Government from 2007 to 2009 from the following continents:

(a)    Europe;

(b)    America; and

(c)    Asia.
