QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

703 Mr Mwangala (Nalolo) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) when the construction of Shangombo District Hospital will be completed;

(b) whether the contractor has problems in completing the project and, if so, what action the Government has taken against the contractor for breach of contract; and

(c) whether the Government has plans to send a relief doctor to the district to attend to emergency cases.

704 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development:

(a) how many sports associations are affiliated to the National Sports Council, name by name; and

(b) whether the Government has any plans to lease the National Sports Council premises.

705 Mr Imenda (Lukulu East) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning whether there are any plans to privatise the public pension schemes to promote competition and efficiency.

706 Mr Matongo (Pemba) - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry what Zambia’s position is on the demand that the Civil Society in Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and Europe should exhibit a united demand for a fairer trade regime partnership between ACP and Europe.

707 Mr Simama (Kalulushi) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources how many district forest officers have vehicles for patrols and operations.

Transformation of the SADC Parliamentary Forum into a SADC Regional Parliament:  That this House urges the Government to support the current regional initiatives to transform the SADC Parliamentary Forum into a SADC Regional Parliament with full legislative powers.

Report of the Committee on Delegated Legislation:  That this House do adopt the Report of the Committee on Delegated Legislation, for the First Session of the Tenth National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on 30th July, 2007.
