QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

860 Mr Milupi (Luena) - to ask the Vice-President when the Government will send relief food to Luena Parliamentary Constituency in view of the serious crop damage caused by the floods.

861 Mr Chella (Wusakile) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a) how many expatriates were employed at Konkola Copper Mines Plc in 2006;

(b) what is the life span of Konkola and Nchanga Open Pit Copper Mines; and

(c) what is the total staff establishment at Konkola Copper Mines Plc.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W6 Mr Nyirenda (Kamfinsa) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs how many inmates were admitted and died in prisons from 2004 to 2006, year by year and prison by prison.

W7 Dr Chishimba (Kasama Central ) - to ask the Minister of Science, Technology and Vocational Training:

(a) what the rationale for establishing the National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (NISIR) was;
(b) to what extent has NISIR achieved its aims and objectives to justify its existence;

(c) how many scientists were trained up to doctorate degree level in the following periods:

(i) up to 1990;
(ii) 1991 to 2000; and
(iii) 2001 to 2005;

(d) how many members of staff are currently studying for doctorate degrees and what are their fields of specialisation;

(e) how many departments are at NISIR and what the qualifications of the heads of department and their deputies are; and

(f) what the total funding allocated and disbursed to NISIR was in the following periods:

(i) 1985 to 1995; and
(ii) 1996 to 2005.

W8 Mr Hamududu (Bweengwa) - to ask the Vice-President how much money the Government spent on training workshops for civil servants from 2001 to 2006, ministry by ministry and year by year.

W9 Dr Njobvu (Milanzi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives what the total area of land covered by crops from 2001 to 2005 was, province by province and crop by crop.

W10 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) when the Government will construct a school hall at Twashuka High School in the Roan Parliamentary Constituency;

(b) what the current staff establishment is at the following schools:

(i) Mpatamato Secondary School;
(ii) Nkulumashiba High School;
(iii) Twashuka High School; and
(iv) Roan Antelope High School;
(c) how many teachers were at the schools above as of December, 2006; and

(d) what the deficit of teachers is at the schools above, subject by subject, and when the deficit will be met.
