QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

950 Mr Muteteka (Chisamba) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives:

(a) how many tonnes of basal and top dressing fertilisers the Government has allocated to farmers under the Fertiliser Support Programme during the 2007/2008 farming season, province by province;

(b) what the levels of fertiliser allocation were in the 2006/2007 farming season;

(c) how much fertiliser has been allocated to Chisamba Parliamentary Constituency under the same programme;

(d) what the reasons for the increase or decrease in the allocation of fertiliser to farmers in the 2007/2008 farming season are and whether the farming community was informed in advance about the change in the levels of fertiliser allocation; and

(e) what measures the Government has taken to ensure that small-scale farmers contribute significantly to the next maize bumper harvest.

951 Mr Milupi (Luena) - to ask the Minister of Health what measures the Government has taken to achieve the following:

(i) malaria free urban areas, including district headquarters and densely populated areas; and
(ii) drastic reduction of mosquitoes in rural areas.

952 Mr V Mwale (Chipangali) - to ask the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development whether the Ministry has plans to provide free sports materials such as balls and jerseys to schools.

953 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a) how many mining companies dealing in base metals were registered before 1st April, 2007; and

(b) how many were registered after 1st April, 2007.

954 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Education how many schools in Luanshya still have squatting toilets.

955 Mr F R Tembo (Nyimba) - to ask the Minister of Education why teachers within Nyimba Boma do not receive rural hardship allowances while their counterparts in other Government departments within the Boma receive these allowances.

956 Mr Simama (Kalulushi) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources:

(a) how many tonnes of honey are produced at the Mwekera and Kabompo honey factories annually;

(b) whether there are any plans to market the honey abroad; and

(c) what future plans the Ministry has for the honey factories above.

957 Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a) how many prospecting mining licences for precious and semi-precious stones were issued to Chinese investors from 2004 to 2006;

(b) how many tonnes of precious and semi-precious stones were produced in the period above; and

(c) how much revenue the Government realised from the investors at (a) above.

958 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives when the Government will upgrade cooperative storage sheds in rural constituencies.

959 Mr Munaile (Malole) - to ask the Minister of Education whether there are any plans to build a high school for girls in Malole Parliamentary Constituency.

960 Mr Misapa (Mporokoso) - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry when a commercial bank will be opened in Mporokoso District.

961 Mr Ngoma (Sinda) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) how many people were killed by criminals in Lusaka from the time street vendors were removed from the streets to-date; and

(b) whether there is any correlation between the removal of vendors from the streets and the increase in the levels of crime.

962 Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) how much was spent on the construction of the market in the Luampa Central Ward in Luampa Parliamentary Constituency;

(b) when the construction of the market begun;

(c) why the market has not been opened;

(d) how much has so far been paid to the contractor; and

(e) what the name of the contractor is.

963 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport:

(a) under what terms are MTN and CELTEL communication service providers erecting the advertisement billboards in residential areas country-wide;

(b) what financial benefits does the Communications Authority derive from these billboards; and

(c) whether local councils also benefit from these billboards.

964 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources whether the  Ministry has plans to build boarding primary and secondary schools to cater for children of ZAWA officers in Mfuwe Parliamentary Constituency.

965 Mr Mwapela (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport:

(a) when ZAMTEL will install a digital communication system in Kalabo District to reduce the constant breakdown of telecommunication services in the district; and

(b) when ZAMTEL will send a technician to Kalabo to replace the one who died four years ago.
