QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

976 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) when Muchabi Health Centre, which is in a bad state, will be rehabilitated; and

(b) when the Health Centre will be provided with adequate medical staff.

977 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry how many investors were given investment permits to invest in Mwense District from 2001 to 2006.

978 Mr Misapa (Mporokoso) - to ask the Minister of Education when District Education Board Secretaries and District Education Standard Officers in Mporokoso District will be provided with new vehicles to replace the old and unreliable fleet of vehicles bought in 1999.

979 Mr Ngoma (Sinda) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a) what the recommended police to citizen/civilian ratio is internationally; and

(b) what the current police to citizen/civilian ratio is in Zambia, province by province.

980 Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Justice:

(a) when Naliele Royal Local Court in Luampa Parliamentary Constituency will be rehabilitated; and

(b) when Naliele Royal Establishment Court in Kaoma District will be built.

981 Mr Mwangala (Nalolo) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) when the long standing boundary disputes involving Chief Mwanamwalye of Lumbe in Senanga District and Chief Silumbu of Sesheke District will be resolved;

(b) what the exact areas of dispute in the case at (a) above are;

(c) what the reasons for the delay in resolving the disputes are; and

(d) what the effects of the delay in resolving the disputes are.

982 Mr Mukanga (Kantanshi) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a) what measures the following mining companies have taken to use part of their profits to assist the local communities:

(i) Mopani Copper Mines Plc;
(ii) First Quantum Plc; and
(iii) KCM Plc; and

(b) what the level of assistance has been with regard to the following:

(i) the number of women and youth clubs that have been assisted; and
(ii) the number of community roads that have been rehabilitated.

983 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a) how many clinical officers and nurses are currently working in Mfuwe Parliamentary Constituency; and

(b) when more clinical officers and nurses will be sent to the Constituency.

984 Mr Mweemba (Magoye) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning how much the Government owes the water utility companies in the country, province by province.

985 Mr Imasiku (Liuwa) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) when the pontoon at Libonda Harbour in the Western Province will be replaced; and

(b) when the Ministry will provide a reliable and large pontoon at Kalabo Harbour to facilitate easy crossing for tourists visiting the Liuwa National Park.

986 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Co-operatives how many co-operative societies were registered in Chilubi District from 2000 to 2006 and how many farmers were registered under the co-operative societies in the same period.

987 Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) how many boreholes have been sunk in Chililabombwe Parliamentary Constituency since independence; and

(b) whether the Ministry has plans to sink more boreholes in the Constituency.

988 Mr Mwapela (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources why the local people in Kalabo District are denied hunting quotas when foreign investors, who hunt on a large scale, are allowed to do so.

989 Mr Sejani (Mapatizya) - to ask the Minister of Education what specific programmes the Government has taken for infrastructure development in schools following the phasing out of Micro Projects and ZAMSIF programmes.
990 Mr Chongo (Mwense) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) why the pontoon in Chief Kashiba’s area, linking Mwense District in Zambia to Kasenga District in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was removed; and

(b) when pontoon services will be re-introduced in the area.

Report of the Public Accounts Committee:  That this House do adopt the Report of the Public Accounts Committee, on the Report of the Auditor-General on the Accounts for the Financial Year ended 31st December, 2005, for the First Session of the Tenth National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on 1st November, 2007.
