QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

1005 Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Energy and Water Development:

(a) how much hydro-electric power Zambia imports from the Democratic Republic of Congo annually and at what cost;

(b) how much hydro-electric power Zambia exports to Zimbabwe annually and how much is earned; and

(c) how much the Zimbabwean Government pays to ZESCO Ltd for using its power line to transmit power which Zimbabwe imports from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

1006 Mr C Mulenga (Chinsali) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport whether the Government has any intention to replace the blue and white colours painted on public transport vehicles such as buses and taxis with other colours.

1007 Mr Chota (Lubansenshi) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) how much money was paid to the receivers of RAMCOZ from the time the mine went into receivership to the time the receivers were changed, month by month; and

(b) who authorised the above payments.
 
1008 Mr Sikazwe (Chimbamilonga) - to ask the Minister of Lands:

(a) where the boundary between Mpulungu and Kaputa District Councils is located;

(b) where the boundary between the chiefdoms of Senior Chief Nsama and Chief Chitimbwa is located; and

(c) whether the demarcations of the boundaries at (a) and (b) above were gazetted and, if so, when.

1009 Mr Muyanda (Sinazongwe) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply why the D499 road in Gwembe Valley, popularly known as the Bottom road, is not being constructed despite an old and outstanding Government assurance that work will commence.

1010 Mr Chanda (Kankoyo) - to ask the Minister of Communications and Transport what measures the Government has taken to reduce road traffic accidents during festive periods in the country.

1011 Mrs E M Banda (Chililabombwe) - to ask the Minister of Education when teachers, who were employed from 2005 to date, will receive their housing allowances.

1012 Mrs Musokotwane (Katombola) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) how many teachers graduated from teachers’ training colleges from 2003 to 2006;

(b) how many of the teachers at (a) above have been employed; and

(c) how many of the employed teachers have not yet reported to their respective schools.

1013 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development:

(a) whether the Government has plans to replace the old Rotary Kiln at Ndola Lime Company Limited in order to increase lime production;

(b) if so, what is its estimated cost and when will the project be completed; and
(c) who will finance the project.

1014 Major Chibamba (Shiwang’andu) - to ask the Minister of Health when the following works at Matumbo Clinic in Shiwang’andu Parliamentary Constituency will be completed:

(i) extension works; and
(ii) installation of electricity to the new structures.

1015 Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Health when Mwinilunga District Hospital will be provided with a medical doctor and an ambulance.

1016 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development whether the owners of Namantombwa Mine in Nangoma Parliamentary Constituency will rehabilitate the Nampundwe/Mumbwa road since they use the road often.

1017 Mr Misapa (Mporokoso) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing whether the Government has plans to allow local councils in rural areas use part of the grants they receive from the Ministry to open up farms as a way of broadening their revenue bases.

1018 Mr Ngoma (Sinda) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when the Government will rehabilitate the Lusaka Central Police Station offices.

1019 Mr Mwangala (Nalolo) - to ask the Minister of Health when construction of the clinic at Suu, in Shekela Ward, in Nalolo Parliamentary Constituency, which was abandoned in 2003, will be completed.
