QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

1020 Ms Limata (Luampa) - to ask the Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources whether the Ministry has any plans to assist the local people in Luampa Parliamentary Constituency enhance their timber business by providing them with the following:

(i) loans to procure the necessary equipment for timber processing; and
(ii) sourcing stable markets for timber in Zambia and abroad.

1021 Mr Mweemba (Magoye) - to ask the Minister of Lands when farmers in Ngwezi Settlement in Magoye Parliamentary Constituency, who have lived in the area since 1966 and pay ground rent on their property, will be issued with title deeds.

1022 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) what measures the Government has taken to curb the brain drain at the University of Zambia and the Copperbelt University; and

(b) whether the Ministry has plans to introduce car loans for lecturers at the two universities repayable over a period of five years in order to reduce the brain drain at the institutions.

1023 Mr Mwapela (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when police posts will be established at the following places in Kalabo Central Parliamentary Constituency:

(i) Lukona;  
(ii) Sihole;
(iii) Mapungu; and
(iv) Liumba.

1024 Mr Simama (Kalulushi) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing whether the Government has any plans to introduce a “Constituency Road Maintenance Fund” to complement the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

1025 Mr Singombe (Dundumwezi) - to ask the Minister of Works and Supply:

(a) when the following bridges in Dundumwezi Parliamentary Constituency will be rehabilitated:

  (i) Munyeke in Chamuka Ward; and
 (ii) Chizuni in Chamuka Ward; and

(b) when the rehabilitation of the following roads will begin:

(i) Kalomo/Dundumwezi road; and
(ii) Kalomo/Chikanta road.

1026 Mr Kambwili (Roan) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) how many academicians from the Copperbelt University and the University of Zambia left for other countries from 2001 to 2006; and

(b) how many secondary school teachers left Zambia for other countries during the same period above.

1027 Mr D Mwila (Chipili) - to ask the Minister of Labour and Social Security when a Bill to prohibit labour broking in the country will be introduced in the House.

1028 Mr Chongo (Mwense) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning:

(a) how many Zambia Revenue Authority stations are operating in Mwense District and where are they situated; and

(b) how many officers are at these stations.

1029 Mr Katuka (Mwinilunga East) - to ask the Minister of Health when the Government will rehabilitate the following health institutions in Mwinilunga East Parliamentary Constituency:

(i) Kapundu Rural Health Centre;
(ii) Kanyama Rural Health Centre;
(iii) Chiwoma Rural Health Centre; and
(iv) Tom-Ilunga Rural Health Centre.

1030 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing:

(a) how big is the market being constructed along Los Angeles road in Lusaka; and

(b) when the marketeers and traders operating along the above road will be relocated.

1031 Mr Misapa (Mporokoso) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when houses for police officers in Mporokoso District will be constructed.

1032 Mr Ngoma (Sinda) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs how many crimes were reported to the police in Zambia from 2001 to-date, province by province.

1033 Mr Mwangala (Nalolo) - to ask the Minister of Education:

(a) when construction of the following schools in Nalolo Parliamentary Constituency will be completed:

  (i) Mwandi Basic School; and
  (ii) Kaunga-Lueti Basic School; and

(b) who is funding the projects at (a) above and at what cost.

1034 Mr Malama (Mfuwe) - to ask the Minister of Education whether the Government has any plans to build another primary school in Chief Nabwalya’s area.
