QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

85    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock:

(a)    which water bodies in Zambia produce the largest and the least quantities of fish; and

(b)    what the annual fish production, in metric tonnes, at (a) above, is.

86    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock:

(a)    how many fish species there are in the Bangweulu swamps; and

(b)    of the species above, how many are of commercial importance.

87    Mr P Ngoma (Feira) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when the Government will provide the Luangwa District Police Command with transport to enhance security operations in the area of their jurisdiction.

88    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Local Government, Housing, Early Education and Environmental Protection why the money allocated in the 2009/2010 Budget for the construction of the bus station at Chaba and the Market in Chifwenge Ward in Chilubi District was not released for the projects.

89    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Information, Broadcasting and Tourism:

(a)    how many qualified District Information Officers there were country-wide as of 30th November, 2011;

(b)    why Chilubi District has remained without a District Information Officer since 1999, and when an officer will be posted to Chilubi;

(c)    what the staff establishment for the ZANIS office in Chilubi District is;

(d)    why funding to the Chilubi District ZANIS office is channelled through the District Commissioner’s office; and

(e)    when the ZANIS office in Chilubi will be provided with transport in form of a speed boat and a motor vehicle.

90    Mr Njeulu (Sinjembela) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication when the Government will construct a canal from Rivungu to Shangombo in Western Province.

91    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Local Government, Housing, Early Education and Environmental Protection what measures the Government has taken to ensure that domestic animals like dogs that are kept in residential areas are vaccinated, and also kept under the control of the owners.

92    Mr Mutelo (Lukulu West) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication when the Government will construct bridges at the following locations:

(a)    Watopa Point on Kabompo River in Lukulu District; and

(b)    Kashizhi School Point on Kashizhi River in Lukulu West Parliamentary Constituency.

93    Mr Mutelo (Lukulu West) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when the Government will build a police post and an immigration office at Washishi Border in Lukulu West Parliamentary Constituency.

94    Mr Chungu (Luanshya) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs what measures have been taken to improve the state of police camps country-wide, which is currently very poor.

95    Mr Chitotela (Pambashe) - to ask the Minister of Health:

(a)    when the Government will construct a hospital in Pambashe Parliamentary Constituency;

(b)    how much money the project will cost; and

(c)    what the expected time-frame for completing the project is.

96    Mr Mwanza (Solwezi West) - to ask the Minister of Local Government, Housing, Early Education and Environmental Protection:

(a)    when Mumbezhi in Solwezi will be granted district status;

(b)    when the Government will approve the integrated development plan for Lumwana area to enable the Solwezi Municipal Council to allocate land to prospective developers; and

(c)    what action the Government will take against illegal developers in Lumwana area.

97    Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Local Government, Housing, Early Education and Environmental Protection whether the Government has any plans to ban the production and consumption of alcohol in sachets popularly known as tujilijili in view of its vulnerability to abuse especially by the young people.

98    Mr Mwanza (Solwezi West) - to ask the Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs:

(a)    how many chiefs there were in Zambia as of 30th June, 2011, province by province;

(b)    of the total number at (a), how many were:

(i)    paramount chiefs;
(ii)    senior chiefs;
(iii)    ordinary chiefs; and
(iv)    sub-chiefs;

(c)    how much money the Ministry spends, on average, each month as allowances for chiefs and chiefs’ retainers following the revision of allowances; and

(d)    what the difference, in percentage terms, is between the new and old allowances for chiefs and chiefs’ retainers.

99    Mr Chungu (Luanshya) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Natural Resources:

(a)    what measures have been taken to pay terminal benefits to former workers of Mpelembe Drilling Company who were laid off after the Company was taken over by the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines Management Buy Out team;

(b)    how many workers have already been paid; and

(c)    how many are yet to be paid.
