QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

163 Mr Mbulakulima (Chembe) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when the Government will construct a police station in Milenge District which is currently serviced by two police posts.

164 Mr Lufuma (Kabompo West) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:

(a) whether the Government is considering transferring the pontoon that was at Chembe in Luapula Province to Litoya-Kaviyonde crossing point on the Kabompo River in North-Western Province in order to connect productive areas across the River to the Kabompo Central Business District; and

(b) if not, whether the Government has any plans to procure a new pontoon for the ferry crossing point at (a).

165 Mr Lufuma (Kabompo West) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:

(a) whether the Government is aware of the poor workmanship by contractors working on the M8 Road between Kabompo and Zambezi; and

(b) if so, what measures the Government has taken to ensure that technical specifications are adhered to by the contractors.

166 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication when the M.V. Bangweulu vessel at Samfya Harbour will be rehabilitated to improve safety standards.

167 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock how many livestock research stations and state ranches there were in Zambia as of November, 2011.

168 Ms Sayifwanda (Zambezi East) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication when the Government will carry out maintenance works on the following feeder roads in Zambezi East Parliamentary Constituency:

(a) Zambezi-Nyakulenga via Kantonto;

(b) Zambezi-Chitokoloki-Watopa; and

(c) Zambezi-Kalwilo-Kabompo.

169 Ms Sayifwanda (Zambezi East) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication when the Government will complete the construction of the bridges in Zambezi District that were left incomplete by the Road Contractors Company of Namibia.

170 Mr Hamusonde (Nangoma) - to ask the Minister of Lands, Energy and Water Development when implementation of the Rural Electrification Programme in Nangoma Parliamentary Constituency will commence.

171 Mr Mwanza (Solwezi West) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science and Vocational Training:

(a) why some retired heads of schools and colleges in Solwezi District have continued performing their official duties; and

(b) what measures, if any, the Ministry has taken to ensure that public funds being handled by the retired heads are accounted for.

172 Mr Mwanza (Solwezi West) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock when the Cooperative Bank will be re-opened.

W12 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Justice:

(a) how many High Court sessions were conducted at the following provincial centres from January, 2010 to October, 2011:

(i) Chipata;
(ii) Kabwe;
(iii) Kasama;
(iv) Livingstone;
(v) Mansa; and
(vi) Solwezi;

(b) how many High Court Judges there were in the country as of 20th November, 2011; and

(c) how many Judges retired between 1st January, 2007 and 20th November, 2011.

W13 Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock:

(a) what the total staff establishment of the Livestock and Fisheries Department country-wide, is; and

(b) what the actual staffing levels were in the following districts as of November, 2011;

(i) Chilubi;
(ii) Luwingu;
(iii) Kaputa;
(iv) Mpulungu; and
(v) Samfya; and

(c) when the vacancies, if any, will be filled up to improve on
service delivery.
