QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER

486    Mr Mwango (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:

(a)    when the upgrading of the following roads to bituminous standard will be completed:

(i)    Pedicle road;
(ii)    Mporokoso-Kaputa road; and
(iii)    Nakonde-Mbala road;

(b)    whether the contractors working on the roads at (a) above are carrying out the works in accordance with their contracts; and

(c)    what contribution, if any, the Democratic Republic of Congo has made towards the tarring of the Pedicle road.

487    Mr Chisala (Chilubi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs:

(a)    what the categories of prisons in Zambia were as of 31st December, 2011; and

(b)    which category had the most and the least number of prisoners as of 31st March, 2011.

488    Mr Zimba (Kapiri-Mposhi) - to ask the Minister of Home Affairs when a police post in Chief Ngabwe’s area of Kapiri-Mposhi Parliamentary Constituency will be constructed.

489    Mr Ntundu (Gwembe) - to ask the Minister of Finance and National Planning how much money was collected by the Zambia Revenue Authority from 1st January, 2011 to 31st December, 2011, in form of the following taxes:

(a)    Excise Duty;

(b)    Customs Duty;

(c)    Value Added Tax;

(d)    Pay As You Earn; and

(e)    other taxes.

490    Mr Mbulakulima (Chembe) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Housing when the Government will modernise the Milenge Market in Milenge District.

491    Mr Kalaba (Bahati) - to ask the Minister of Youth and Sport whether the Government has any plans for youth development and, if so, what the plans are.

492    Mr Milambo (Mwembeshi) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:

(a)    whether the Ministry has any plans to upgrade the Nampundwe-Nalubanda road to bituminous standard;

(b)    if so, when the project will begin; and

(c)    if not, why.

493    Mr Sianga (Sesheke) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication:

(a)    whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate the Livingstone-Sesheke Road; and

(b)    if so, when the exercise will commence.

494    Mr Chingimbu (Kabompo East) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education what the minimum requirements for upgrading a basic school to a high school are.

495    Mr Mushanga (Bwacha) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply
and Communication:

(a)    when Buntungwa Industrial Road in Kabwe, which links the town centre to Ngungu Compound, will be rehabilitated; and

(b)    when the township roads in Bwacha Parliamentary Constituency, which are in a deplorable state, will be rehabilitated.

496    Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock:

(a)    what the source of black leg disease which has killed a lot of cattle in Kalabo District is;

(b)    when the Government will provide drugs to contain the disease in the District; and

(c)    when agricultural camps will be provided with staff.

497    Mr Siamunene (Sinazongwe) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication when the road to the new Namafulu Border Post in Sinanzongwe District will be constructed.

498    Mr Antonio (Kaoma Central) - to ask the Minister of Transport, Works, Supply and Communication when the Njonjolo road which leads to Chief Kahare’s Palace in Kaoma District will be rehabilitated.

QUESTIONS FOR WRITTEN ANSWER

W34    Mr Mufalali (Senanga) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education:

(a)    how many schools taught the following subjects as of 2011, province by province:

(i)    Technical Drawing;
(ii)    Physics;
(iii)    Chemistry;
(iv)    Biology; and
(v)    Additional Mathematics;

(b)    of the schools above, how many were owned by the following institutions, province by province:

(i)    Government;
(ii)    Faith-Based Organisations; and
(iii)    Private Sector; and

(c)    whether there had been any increase or decline in the teaching of technical subjects country-wide in the period 1999-2011.

W35    Mr Mufalali (Senanga) - to ask the Minister of Education, Science,
Vocational Training and Early Education:

(a)    how many pupils qualified to the public universities from 1991 to 2011, province by province;

(b)    how many students dropped out of each university, province by province due to failure to:

(i)    pay the tuition fees; and
(ii)    pass the examinations; and

(c)    how many students graduated, in the following fields, province by province, in the period at (a) above:

(i)    medicine;
(ii)    engineering;
(iii)    economics; and
(iv)    education.
