384.    Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:

  1. whether the Government is aware that from Friday, 11th July, 2025, residents in Kalabo District have had no water supply and face the risk of an outbreak of waterborne diseases; and
  2.  if so, what urgent measures are being taken to resolve the problem.

 

7.       QUESTION FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 80)

385.    Mr Kandafula (Serenje) -  to ask the Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security:

(a)  why the construction of the Zambia Police Service offices and housing units in Serenje District has not been completed despite being budgeted for in 2023;

(b)  at what percentage of completion the project was, as of April, 2025;

(c)  what the cost of the outstanding works is; and

(d) what the time frame for the completion of the outstanding works is.

386.    Mr Mtayachalo (Chama North) - to ask the Minister of Energy:

(a)     when the following wards in Chama North Parliamentary Constituency will be electrified:

  1. Mwalala;
  2. Nkhankha;
  3. Mazonde;
  4. Luangwa;
  5. Manthepa; and
  6. Ndunda; and

(b)     what the estimated cost of the project is.

 

387.    Mr Hamwaata (Pemba) -  to ask the Minister of Energy:

(a)     whether the Government has any plans to electrify the following Schools in Pemba District:

  1. Choompa Secondary;  
  2. Demu Secondary;       
  3. Hajamba Secondary;   
  4. Simudima Secondary;  
  5. Kauba Secondary;       
  6. Siazwela Secondary;   
  7. Mudukulu Secondary;
  8. Moyo Secondary;
  9.  Kaamba Secondary;
  10. Munyama Primary;
  11. Makomba Primary; and
  12. Japi Primary;

(b)     if so, when the plans will be implemented;

(c)      what the estimated cost of the project is; and

(d)     if there are no such plans, why.

 

388.    Mr Kapyanga (Mpika) -  to ask the Minister of Energy:

(a)     whether the Government has any plans to electrify Chishala Primary School in Mpika District;

(b)     if so, when the plans will be implemented; and

(c) if there are no such plans, why.

 

389.    Mr Chanda (Kanchibiya) -  to ask the Minister of Energy:

  1.      when the Government will electrify the following institutions in Kanchibiya District:
  1. Kabinga Primary School;
  2. Kabinga Day Secondary School;
  3. Kabinga Rural Health Centre; and
  4. Munkunta Rural Health Centre;

         (b)     what the cause of the delay in electrifying the institutions is; and

         (c)      what the estimated cost of each project is.

 

390    Mr Chanda (Kanchibiya) -  to ask the Minister of Energy:

a.     when the Government will electrify the following areas in Kanchibiya District:

  1. Kaonda;
  2.  Mwansabamba;
  3. Chipi Zone; and
  4. Kabulamwiko;

b.     when the electrification of the following areas, along the Tazara Corridor will be completed:

  1. Mala; and
  2. Ntunta;

c.   when the Government will electrify the Catholic boarding school in Luchembe Chiefdom, which is under construction;

d.     what the estimated cost of the project at (c) is; and

e.     what the time frame for the completion of the project is.

Adopt Report of the Committee on National Guidance and Gender Matters:  That this House adopts the Report of the Committee on National Guidance and Gender Matters on the Performance Audit Report on the Effectiveness of Government Measures in Ending Child Marriage in Zambia, 2020 to 2023, for the Fourth Session of the Thirteenth National Assembly, laid on the Table of the House on Monday, 21st July, 2025.
