The Minister of Agriculture – On the update of the crop yield for the 2024/2025 Agricultural Season and the Food Balance status for the 2024/2025 Marketing Season.
 
 
 
8. QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWER (STANDING ORDER 80)
 
 
277 Mr Chanda (Kanchibiya) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
 
(a) when construction of a bus station at Kasango in Kanchibiya Parliamentary Constituency will commence;
 
(b) what the cost of the project is; 
 
(c) when the procurement process will commence; and
 
(d) what features will come with the bus station.
 
 
278 Mr Chisopa (Mkushi South) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
 
(a) when Kampoko Bridge, across the Kampoko River in Mkushi South Parliamentary Constituency, which was washed away during the 2023/2024 Rainy Season, will be reconstructed; and
 
(b) what the estimated cost of the project is.
 
 
279 Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Green Economy and Environment:
 
(a) what collaborative measures the Government is implementing to mitigate the effects of climate change being experienced by farmers, countrywide; and
 
(b) what sensitisation programmes the Government is implementing to assist farmers adapt to the effects of climate change.
 
 
280 Mr Kapyanga (Mpika) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
 
(a) when the construction of Kampamba Secondary School in Mpika District will be completed;
 
(b) what the cause of the delay in completing the project is; and
 
(c) what the cost of the outstanding works is.
 
 
281 Mr Malambo (Magoye) - to ask the Minister of Transport and Logistics:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to rehabilitate the railway bridge at Magoye River Railway Crossing Point in Magoye Parliamentary Constituency;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
 
(c) what the estimated cost of the project is; and
 
(d) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
282 Mr Mulunda (Siavonga) - to ask the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development:
 
(a) when construction of the following infrastructure in Siavonga District will commence:
 
(i) a bus station; and
(ii) a market; and
 
(b) what the cause of the delay in commencing the projects is.
 
 
283 Mr Lubusha (Chipangali) - to ask the Minister of Water Development and Sanitation:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct dams in the following areas in Chipangali Parliamentary Constituency:
 
(i) Chanje Chiefdom;  (vi) Kapatamoyo Chiefdom;
(ii) Mshawa Chiefdom;  (vii) Mafuta Chiefdom;
(iii) Chinunda Chiefdom;  (viii) Chikuwe Chiefdom;
(iv) Mnukwa Chiefdom;  (ix) MadziAtuwa Scheme; and
(v) Mkanda Chiefdom;  (x) Chipangali Main Centre;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
284 Mr J Daka (Chadiza) - to ask the Minister of Fisheries and Livestock:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to procure motorbikes for veterinary extension officers in all the 20 camps in Chadiza District;
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(c) if there are no such plans, why.
 
 
285 Mr Kapyanga (Mpika) - to ask the Minister of Energy:
 
(a) whether there were any private companies that had applied to construct hydropower stations at Kapamba, Mutinondo and other waterfalls in Mpika District, as of December, 2024;
 
(b) if so, how many applications were successful, as of January, 2025;
 
(c) whether the Government has any plans to construct solar power plants in the District;
 
(d) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
 
(e) if there are no such plans, why. 
 
 
286 Mr Miyutu (Kalabo Central) - to ask the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development:
 
(a) when the Government will upgrade to bituminous standard, the Kalabo-Sikongo-Angola Border road;
 
(b) what the estimated cost of the project is; and
 
(c) who the contractor for the project is.
 
 
287 Mr Mutale (Chitambo) - to ask the Minister of Mines and Minerals Development what measures the Government is taking to ensure that the gold discovered in Chitambo District benefits the local people.
 
 
288 Mr J Daka (Chadiza) - to ask the Minister of Justice:
 
(a) whether the Government has any plans to construct a local court building in KalembaMiti area in  Chadiza District; 
 
(b) if so, when the plans will be implemented;
 
(c) what the estimated cost of the project is;
 
(d) whether there are any plans to rehabilitate the Zingalume Local Court which is in a dilapidated state;
 
(e) if so, when the plans will be implemented; and
