Feira Constituency Development Fund Committee on 2^nd February, 2025, handed-over various CDF projects to the community for the year 2023/2024. Among them was the construction of a Foot Bridge across Rufunsa Stream at Janeiro.

Member of Parliament for Feira Constituency, Honourable Emmanuel Tembo, thanked Luangwa Town Council for ensuring the timely execution of the project, which has resolved the long-standing challenge of crossing the stream during the rainy season when it frequently floods, making it impossible for community members to cross. He added that Farmers would be cut off from accessing their fields and school-going children would be unable to reach their schools on the other side of the stream.

Hon. Tembo therefore, urged the residents of Kabowo Ward to take full ownership of the footbridge and protect it from any form of vandalism.

The Footbridge which has been constructed by WEGOS General Dealers costed a total of K653,775.89.

The event was lso graced by District Commissioner for Luangwa District, Mr. Luke Chikani the Council Chairperson, Mr. Lawrence Shaba, HRH Chief Mphuka, Council Secretary Mr. Stephen Malenga, Ward Councilors, various WDC members and other stakeholders.
